Moto Display can show you a sneak peek of your notifications, even when your display is off, so you stay in the know without having to do a thing.

Tip: To enable all features and get optimized performance, visit the Play Store to ensure you are running the latest version of Moto Display.

Moto Display is on by defaultwhen you receive your phone. When new, important notifications arrive when your display is off, Moto Display will fade a simple notification in and out to subtly get your attention. However, if you miss the notification on your display, simply "nudge" or pick up the device.

Moto Display will not appear if the phone is:

● Face down

● On a call

To see a new notification, just drag your finger to the target.

Touch > Moto > Display > Block apps

Make desired selections

What if I don’t want people to see my notifications?

Moto Display is designed with your privacy in mind. Unlike other solutions, no personally identifiable information is revealed on the top-level screen. Instead, you discreetly see the types of new notifications that are waiting for you and the time. A preview of the top notifications is available when you interact with Moto Display.

Battery Impact

Will using Moto Display impact my battery life?

Moto Display has been engineered to show critical information even when your phone is asleep. Even though the display fades in and out to ensure you are notified of the important stuff, we use very little power (just a few percent of the total battery capacity).

There's a problem with my Razr where the external wallpaper is blurry when it's locked. I wish there was an option to have no blur or at least control the level of blur. It was working fine two weeks ago, but now it's excessively blurry. I've been trying to fix it for six hours without success. Any idea who I can send screenshots to for help?

I don't hate it, but it just doesn't do what it's supposed to do. For example, when I try to respond to a message while my phone is locked, it doesn't actually type the text into any messaging apps like it should. It's not fulfilling its main promise.

I didn't realize I was using this app because it didn't need human interaction. It must have loaded automatically. I think I probably installed it while I was a bit tipsy and then forgot about it overnight. At first, I thought it might be malware, but turns out, I really like the app. I was searching for a screen mirroring app in the afternoon and found it on the Play Store. I enjoy receiving the updates, and I just discovered that I can swipe right or left to see more. I feel silly for not knowing that earlier.

Notification behaves strangely when I open it from the lock screen. It goes off multiple times with each interaction, especially when I open Gmail notifications. The same issue occurs with other notifications but not as frequently. Sometimes it repeats 2 times, sometimes even up to 12 times, with texts being less frequent compared to Gmail. Last time, there was a pattern of a few notifications, then a pause, followed by more notifications.

Well done, Moto Team! The app update released on May 6th, 2019 (Version 06.094.2) seems to have solved the problem with notification sounds on both of our Moto G6 phones running Oreo, as mentioned earlier. We really like the app and have now given it a 5-star rating. Initially, we encountered the same issue that Jason J had reported on our Moto G6 phones running Oreo. After the recent update, everything seems to be working fine now. Thank you for fixing the problem.

I'm one of the few who faced issues with the "approach to wake" feature. At first, it seemed fine after the update, reacting to my hand wave for a while. But then it suddenly stopped working. I tried different things like uninstalling the update, tweaking peek and approach settings, and eventually, it started working again. Overall, I agree with other feedback. It would be better if the dismiss option was at the bottom for quick access. And regarding the optional animation, I think it should only show up when the device is charging. If something is working fine, there's no need to make unnecessary changes!

The new update on my Moto G7 Power makes the background flash black when unlocking. Getting to the home screen is now slower and requires more swipes. I don't mind the clock/power screen animation, but can it be turned off? As an engineer, we believe in the saying "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." Based on feedback, more improvements are needed.

I think the option to swipe down to dismiss notifications in the peek display should be brought back. It was really convenient, and it would be nice to have that choice or maybe be able to change the settings for it. Recently, it's been more difficult to quickly glance at my phone and see everything on the screen. Now I have to bring it right up to my face to turn on the screen, whereas before I could just tilt it.

There is an app that could be used by someone else to see what's on your device screen and control it from a distance. This person can do things on your device just like they are the real owner. We should look into this. It's possible that the app on my device has been changed, or maybe it's the same for everyone. Either way, it's not acceptable.
