The My City games are all similar in how they’re played: you move around paper-doll-like characters of different looks, genders, and ages, and you interact with the world and your characters by dragging or tapping them. There are various locations in each game that’s connected to their overall theme and tons of activities to do in each of them. You have to scroll back and forth with the screen to get around—with large arrows pointing to other areas that you can access—and almost everything you’ll see can be interacted with, like lamps being tapped on either light up or turn off. There’s a top-left panel that offers what kinds of characters you can use and drag on the screen, and you can toggle what emotions they’re feeling and what they’re wearing. However, what My City game you have will dictate what locations you can access, so residential homes and such from My City: Home might not be available in My City: Office. What’s cool about this series, however, is that you can import your characters and their items, so when you switch games, you can still use them.
