What is Naver 2-step authentication?

· Login is completed after allowing authentication notifications in the Naver app on your smart device.

· When you set up Naver 2-step authentication, you can safely use all Naver services you use.

· If you are already using it, you can use it without additional settings.

How to set up Naver 2-step authentication

You can set up the 2-step authentication service in the 'Security Settings' menu of Naver My Information.

1. Click 'Settings' under Naver ID > Security Settings > Basic Security Settings > 2-step Authentication

2. Click 'Next' on the 2-step authentication screen, enter your password, and click 'Confirm'

3. Select a device that can receive 2-step authentication notifications and click 'Next'

A 2-step authentication request notification will be sent to the selected mobile device.

Only one 2-step authentication device can be selected from the list.

4. Check the authentication request sent to the Naver app of the selected mobile device and click the 'Yes' button.

5. When the 2-step authentication is completed, the '2-step authentication setup is complete' message will be displayed on the security settings page.

If you set up 2-step authentication, an authentication notification will be sent to the selected device when you log in again after 'logging out'.

What are the requirements that merchants must comply with?

According to the Electronic Financial Transactions Act, merchants must comply with the following requirements:

1. Merchants must not refuse to provide goods or services, or treat users unfavorably, due to transactions using debit electronic payment methods, prepaid electronic payment methods, or electronic money (hereinafter referred to as “electronic money, etc.”).

2. Merchants must not make users pay merchant fees.

3. Merchants must not commit any of the following acts: (However, the representative franchisee shall not apply the following ①, ④, and ⑤.)

① Act of pretending to make a transaction using electronic money, etc. without providing goods or services, etc.

② Act of making a transaction using electronic money, etc. exceeding the actual sales amount

③ Act of making a transaction using electronic money, etc. under the name of another franchisee

④ Act of lending the name of the franchisee to another person

⑤ Act of acting as an agent for a transaction using electronic money, etc.

4. A person other than the franchisee shall not make a transaction using electronic money, etc. under the name of the franchisee.

5. The representative franchisee shall comply with the following items:

① Provide credit information of the person providing goods or services, etc. and details of transactions using electronic money, etc.

② Make the name and address of the person providing goods or services, etc. available to users, etc.

③ Comply with requests from users, etc. for cancellation or refund of transactions, etc.

④ Other matters prescribed by relevant laws and regulations for user protection and sound transaction order

6. Naver Financial Co., Ltd. will terminate the merchant contract without delay unless there are special reasons if the merchant violates Article 37 of the Electronic Financial Transactions Act and is sentenced to a penalty or receives a written notice of violation from a relevant administrative agency, etc., as prescribed by relevant laws and regulations.

Responsibilities for Merchants

Naver Financial Co., Ltd. cannot pass on losses resulting from the transactions below to merchants.

However, if Naver Financial Co., Ltd. proves the merchant's intent or gross negligence in the transaction,

this does not apply if a contract has been concluded with the merchant to the effect that the merchant may bear all or part of the loss.
