3. How to Start a Run on Nike Run Club

There are two main ways you can start a run within the Run tab on Nike Run Club: by using either the Quickstart or the Guided Runs menu.

How to Customize and Start a Quickstart Run

The idea behind a Quickstart Run is that you have set up your ideal run ready to go, so when you hit the Start button, you’ll literally hit the ground running. To set up your Quickstart Runs, navigate to the Run tab and tap the cog icon to open the settings menu. Here you will find the following customization options:

Choose between Outdoor or Indoor/Treadmill runs.

Toggle Auto-Pause on or off.

Customize Audio Feedback options (e.g., Male or Female voice; time, distance, and pace feedback; feedback frequency), or turn this feature off completely.

Choose your Run Countdown option for starting a run.

Choose your Orientation and Display options.

Connect to an Apple Watch or other device for heart rate monitoring.

Once you’ve customized your Quickstart Run settings, tap Done (top-right corner) to save and return to the Quickstart Run tab.

To customize your distance, time, and speed preferences, tap Set a Goal. Finally, tap the music icon to connect to a music service (e.g., Apple Music or Spotify). Follow the onscreen prompts to finish the setup.

Once your Quickstart Run settings are optimized, you can start a run anytime by tapping Start within the Quickstart Run tab.

Whether you're a beginner aiming for a 5k or a seasoned runner preparing for a marathon, Nike Run Club has everything you need to crush your fitness goals and connect with a global running community. Lace up, download the app, and let's hit the road together!

I used the old app and really liked it. When I first saw the update, it was a bit weird to me, but after using it for a while, I got used to it. Now, I wouldn't want to go back to the old version because I'm very satisfied with this one. The new analysis feature is helpful, and having a heart rate monitor is great. I bought a cheap ($25) bluetooth unit from AliExpress, and it connected easily. However, I do wish they could add a step length calibration function for better tracking during indoor runs. It's a bit irritating to have to manually count laps and then edit my runs afterwards.

Oh man, this app is a real headache. It's filled with bugs, runs so sluggishly, and drives me up the wall with frustration. Can you believe it takes me as long as 20 minutes just to finish a run? And don't get me started on how it keeps logging me out all the time. The user interface is pretty clunky too, not exactly what I'd call easy to use. I had high hopes for this app, but it's just not delivering. I'm using an Android device, so maybe that's part of the problem, but why should that even matter? I'm really hoping they make some serious improvements soon, or I'll have to start exploring other options.

I've been using this app since 2007, and let me tell you, it's always been awesome! But lately, for about a year or so, it's been acting all buggy. I used to love doing intervals, but now, if I stop in the middle to stretch, the app goes all wonky and doesn't resume properly when I'm ready to run again. My friends with Apple phones don't seem to have these issues at all. If Nike isn't going to support the app properly for us Android users, they should just say goodbye to it. But, I'm really hoping they'll do the right thing and fix these glitches for us Android runners.

It seems like there are some issues with the app. During my speed runs, I faced some glitches such as the trainer suddenly stopping talking or the recording only capturing half of my run after restarting my phone. It's inconvenient that I can't adjust the music volume, so I have to constantly turn it up when the trainer isn't speaking and then lower it when they start yelling in my ear. Also, now my half marathon training plan is showing only two days of rest, which is not accurate.
