Nipun Lakshya App - Onsite competency assessment

The Nipun Lakshya app has been developed by the Basic Education Department (Government of Uttar Pradesh) under the NIPUN Bharat initiative. This app is used to conduct spot assessments of students during supportive supervision by mentors based on competencies of classes 1 to 3.

These competencies are specifically focused on foundational education, including the student's ability to read at a minimum speed (correct words per minute), comprehend, and solve questions related to mathematics.

To use the application, students can undergo spot assessment by selecting the UDISE code, class, and subject. Upon completion of the assessment, the scorecard will be displayed through which mentors and teachers can provide effective feedback.

Track student learning offline with efficient spot assessments

The Nipun Lakshya App is designed to facilitate spot assessments of students in classes 1 to 3 by mentors during supervision sessions. It emphasizes critical educational competencies such as reading fluency, comprehension, and problem-solving skills in mathematics. To conduct assessments, users input the UDISE code, class, and subject into the system. Once tests are finished, a scorecard is produced, offering mentors valuable feedback for teachers. Initial use requires an internet connection, but subsequent access to the tool doesn't mandate connectivity, although remaining online is preferred for optimal functionality. Note that for full access it's necessary to install the Read Along (Bolo) app, setting the language to Hindi and adding the partner code 'upprerna'.

Using this tool, mentors can efficiently track the learning progress of young students and identify areas that may require additional attention or intervention. The direct input of assessment data into the platform allows for immediate generation of results, making the evaluation process more streamlined and less time-consuming than traditional methods.

Note: Internet connectivity is mandatory when using this application for the first time. After that, the app can also work without the internet. However, it is better to stay connected to the internet if available.

It is necessary to install the Read Along (Bolo) application on the phone for this application. Once installed, the language must be changed to 'Hindi' and the partner code 'upprerna' should be added (using the upper left-hand menu button).
