Ordering
How can I track my order?
We will email you as items in your order ship, or if there are updates on the status of your order.
If you have a Nordstrom.com profile, sign in to your account. You'll see which purchases are on the way and get to the shipment tracking updates.
If you don't have an account, find your order number, then go to order information and enter it.
For international orders, please call 1.319.846.4140 or check your order history on Borderfree.
How do I know if ordering online is secure?
To help determine if your connection is secure, look at the status bar of your browser window. If you see an unbroken key or a closed lock (depending on your browser), Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) should be active, which helps to protect the transmission of information through the website. You should also verify that the URL for the page you are on includes "https" at the beginning. Most browsers offer additional security alerts as well.
What happens when my item is backordered?
Items that aren't available to ship when an order is placed are on backorder and will ship at a later date. We'll provide you with an approximate ship date when you add the item to your bag and when you check out. Backorder ship dates are approximate, and we'll email you if the date changes. Please note that, while your credit card will be authorized on the date you place your order, you will not be charged until the item ships.
Account Updates as of April 2021
Separate Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack accounts that use the same email address will soon be combined into a single account. Your credentials, name, contact information, payment methods, shipping addresses and Nordy Club account will all be available under one account.
What happens if I only have a Nordstrom account?
If you only have an account on either Nordstrom.com or Nordstromrack.com, you will now be able to sign in to the other site using your existing credentials. Changes made to your account will apply to both sites, making it easier to manage your shopping experience.
What happens if I have an account on Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack and I use the same email address on both?
If you have accounts on both Nordstrom.com and Nordstromrack.com using the same email address to sign in, the account you use less often will be merged with your other account, and the remaining account will be ready to use across both sites. You should receive an email from us informing you of the sign-in you'll be using. You can use your account on both sites, making it easier than ever to manage your shopping experience. Plus, if you're a member of The Nordy Club, your in-store and online purchase information will show up under your purchase history.
What happens if I have an account on Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack but I use different email addresses for each one?
If you have accounts on both Nordstrom.com and Nordstromrack.com with separate email addresses as your sign-in, you will continue to sign in to each site as usual using the email address you've provided for each one.
I can't find my Nordstrom purchase history. What happened to it?
Information for past Nordstrom orders may no longer be viewable in your account purchase history. If you need to find information regarding a past Nordstrom purchase, we recommend referencing your order confirmation emails or contacting our Customer Care team via chat or by phone at 1.888.282.6060.

What methods of payment can I use?
Nordstrom accepts the following:
Credit Cards: Nordstrom Visa®, Nordstrom credit card, Visa, Mastercard, JCB, American Express and Discover Network.
Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack Gift Cards: to use online, enter the gift card number, along with the access code, in the payment section at Checkout.
Nordstrom Notes: to use online, enter your Note number and access code in the payment section when you check out. Nordstrom Notes can also be redeemed online by calling 1.888.282.6060, or at any Nordstrom or Nordstrom Rack store. If you have a remaining value on your Nordstrom Note, please keep it to apply toward future purchases.
Other forms of payment: Afterpay, PayPal and Apple Pay®
At this time, we cannot accept cash, CODs, checks, money orders or gift certificates for online purchases. If you have any questions, please call us at 1.888.282.6060.
Can I add different forms of payment to an order?
No. We're currently unable to accept multiple credit cards for a single transaction. You can, however, apply Nordstrom gift cards, Nordstrom Rack gift cards and/or Nordstrom Notes to your purchase and pay the remaining balance with a credit card or PayPal.
Do you accept contactless payment?
Yes! We accept contactless payment at all our Nordstrom Rack and Nordstrom stores in the U.S. It's safe and easy. Just hold your tap-to-pay card or mobile device over the card-reader screen to initiate payment.
Nordstrom cardmembers can also shop card-free in stores. Just text 'Get My Card' to 85224 for a QR code shopping pass. Message and data rates may apply.

How do I use my Nordstrom Gift Card?
Nordstrom physical and digital gift cards don't expire, have no fees and are redeemable in stores and online at Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack. Just present your gift card to any salesperson at the time of purchase. If you are purchasing online, your gift card must have an access code. Gift cards may not be resold, exchanged or transferred for value, returned for cash refund or applied as payment on any account, except where required by law. If lost, stolen or damaged, gift cards can be replaced for the remaining value with satisfactory proof of purchase. To use a physical or digital gift card online, enter the card number and access code during Checkout. To use a digital gift card in stores, you can display the gift card on your mobile device to scan it or you can print out the card and bring it to any Nordstrom or Nordstrom Rack to scan at the time of purchase.
It is important to keep your gift card in case of refunds. Generally, refunds will be credited to your original form of payment, including gift cards with a $0 balance.

How do I check my gift card balance?
To verify the remaining balance, call 1.877.283.4045, inquire at any store register or check online. Note that any gift card funds authorized for an order pending shipment will not be visible during these balance checks. It is important to keep your gift card in case of cancellations. Generally, refunds will be credited to your original form of payment, including gift cards and Nordstrom Notes with a $0 balance.
How do I use my Nordstrom Notes?
Nordstrom Notes feature a Note number and an access code. Enter these numbers in the payment section when you check out online. Nordstrom Notes can also be redeemed online by calling 1.888.282.6060, or at any Nordstrom or Nordstrom Rack store. If you have a remaining value on your Nordstrom Note, please keep it to apply toward future purchases.
What is Afterpay?
Afterpay is a service that allows you to make purchases now and pay for them in four interest-free payments.
Where and how do I use Afterpay?
It can be used for purchases made at Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack stores, Nordstrom.com, Nordstromrack.com, and the Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack apps.
When shopping online, choose Afterpay as your payment method at Checkout. First-time customers will need to register with Afterpay and provide payment details; returning customers simply log in to make their purchase. For in-store shopping, add your Afterpay card to Apple Wallet® to use when you check out.
Please note that all items in your shopping bag must be eligible to use Afterpay. A minimum purchase amount may apply, and you must meet additional eligibility requirements to qualify.
Can I use Afterpay for international orders?
Afterpay is only offered to customers who have a U.S. billing address, a U.S. shipping address, a U.S. Visa or Mastercard (credit or debit card), or American Express, and a U.S. mobile phone number.
How does the Afterpay payment schedule work?
Customers make their first payment at the time of purchase, and the remaining three payments are deducted every two weeks using your chosen payment method. If you choose to make additional payments before your scheduled pay dates, you may do so through your Afterpay account.
Is there a limit to how much I can spend on a single transaction with Afterpay?
Yes. Transaction value limits apply to purchases made at Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack, Nordstrom.com, Nordstromrack.com, and the Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack apps.
What products aren't eligible for purchase using Afterpay?
Afterpay can't be used to purchase Gift Cards. If you're buying Gift Cards along with Afterpay-eligible products, you'll need to place two separate orders.
When will my items be delivered if I use Afterpay?
Afterpay purchases are delivered within our usual timeframe. Learn more about shipping.
How do I return or exchange items purchased using Afterpay?
Use one of our convenient options to return or exchange items purchased at Nordstrom or Nordstrom.com. Afterpay will be notified of your return and will process the appropriate refunds. Please do not return your purchase to Afterpay.
How would a partial refund affect my Afterpay payments?
Afterpay will be notified once your refund is processed. Your payment plan will be automatically adjusted to reflect the new total order value starting with the last payment and working backward. In the case where a refund amount is larger than 25% of the total order, Afterpay will eliminate the fourth installment payment and charge the remaining amount to your third payment.
What if I can't pay an Afterpay installment?

Billing & Charges
What is a credit card authorization?
Once your order is placed, a pre-authorization (pending charge/hold) for the full credit card amount will be applied to your credit card. Depending on your financial institution, this pre-authorization usually expires and is automatically refreshed every 7 days until your order ships.
What is a gift card or Nordstrom Note authorization?
Once your order is placed, an authorization (pending charge) for the gift card/Nordstrom Note related purchase amount will be applied to your gift card(s) and/or Nordstrom Note(s). This authorization will remain on your gift card(s) and Nordstrom Note(s) until the items ship, at which time the funds will be redeemed. While the authorization is applied to your gift card(s) and Nordstrom Note(s), the authorized funds will neither be visible to you nor available for use on any other purchase. If your order is canceled for any reason, the authorization will be removed and the funds will once again become available to use on the original gift card(s) and/or Nordstrom Note(s).
When will my credit card be charged?
Your credit card will be charged for the cost of each item as it ships. You may see multiple credit card charges if you have an order that contains multiple items that are shipped at different times.
When will the funds from my gift card or Nordstrom Note be redeemed?
Gift card and Nordstrom Note funds will be redeemed for the cost of each item as it ships. You may see multiple redemptions if you have an order that contains multiple items that are shipped at different times. After all shipments are complete, any remaining funds will be visible when checking your balance.
When will I receive my refund?
All refunds will be credited to your original form of payment or a Nordstrom gift card.
If you return an item to a Nordstrom store, the refunded amount will be applied to your credit card. Depending on your financial institution, you may see that refund within 3–5 business days. If you return an item to us by U.S. mail, we usually receive it within 8–12 business days. Once the item is received, we will process your refund. Depending on your financial institution, you may see that refund on your credit card within 3–5 business days.
• If you're returning a gift, you'll receive a gift card with the credited amount.
• If you paid with a gift card, you'll receive a digital gift card via email with the credited amount.
• If you paid with a Nordstrom Note, you'll get a new Nordstrom Note in the amount of the Nordstrom Note redeemed.
• For faster returns, bring your return items to any Nordstrom store. Find a store.

Can I cancel an order?
You can request to cancel your order within a short time period after placing your order. To cancel your order, sign in to your account, find the order in your purchases, click Details and then click Cancel Order to start the request process. If the Cancel Order button is disabled, the window to cancel has passed and your order is not eligible for cancellation. We're unable to cancel an order beyond this time period.
Your payment method will not be charged if we are able to cancel your order. Any gift card or Nordstrom Note amounts authorized for your order would similarly be made available to you if we are able to cancel your order. If we're unable to cancel your order, your payment method will be charged, your gift cards and Nordstrom Notes redeemed, and your items will be shipped to you. We always have free returns by mail and in store.
It is important to keep your gift card as the funds will become available on the original gift card(s) in case of cancellations.

How much will it cost to ship my order?
We offer four types of shipping, which vary in cost. See shipping prices.
Can I return or exchange my purchase if I don't like it?
Yes. For information, see our Returns & Exchanges policy. For orders shipped internationally, you'll need to contact us and ask for a Return Merchandise Authorization form.
What do I do if I didn't receive a shipment?
If you're missing items or shipments within 30 days of the ship date, visit your account to report an order issue or contact us for help.
How do I ship to an international address?
International shopping for Nordstrom products is offered through Borderfree, a global e-commerce provider.
When you place an international order, your transaction will be with Borderfree, but Nordstrom is happy to assist with customer service needs.

Returns & Exchanges
Need to make a return? We no longer send return labels with orders, but you can still print your own prepaid label, get a QR code to use at eligible USPS or FedEx locations or make your return in store.
You can return items by mail or at any Nordstrom store. We now accept eligible returns of Nordstrom and Nordstrom.com merchandise at Nordstrom Rack locations. Fine jewelry and designer items purchased at Nordstrom or Nordstrom.com are not eligible to be returned to Nordstrom Rack stores. Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack purchases made in Canada are not eligible for return at U.S. locations. Boutique returns must be processed at the store where they were originally purchased.
How do I return items by mail? (U.S.)
If you have an account or an order number, you can start your return now. If you don't have an account or you're missing order information, you can start your return here. Send in your item(s) using the postage-paid U.S. return label. Your return is usually processed within 8–12 business days.
How do I return items in Nordstrom stores?
Simply bring the item(s) you'd like to return to a Nordstrom store along with your receipt and original form of payment. Any salesperson can assist you with your return. Find a store. We now accept returns of Nordstrom and Nordstrom.com merchandise at Nordstrom Rack locations. Boutique returns must be processed at the store where they were originally purchased.
We handle returns on a case-by-case basis with the ultimate goal of making our customers happy. We stand behind our goods and services and want customers to be satisfied with them. We'll always do our best to take care of customers—our philosophy is to deal with them fairly and reasonably. We have long believed that when we treat our customers fairly, they in turn are fair with us. We apply refunds to the tender used to purchase the items being returned. If we choose to provide a refund and no record of sale is available, we'll ask for personal identification and a refund will be provided at the current price on a Nordstrom Gift Card.

How often does Nordstrom have sale events?
Our best sale of the year—the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale—occurs every July/August. This event has become legendary among Nordstrom customers who enjoy outstanding savings on the most exciting new fall merchandise, along with plenty of stuff for summer. We also have a Half-Yearly Sale each spring and fall, usually in May and December. These much-anticipated events, along with three additional seasonal sales, offer great deals on clothing, shoes, accessories and more for men, women and kids.
What kinds of promotions do you offer?
We like to reward our customers with special promotional offers. Available promotions will be indicated on relevant pages of our website. We offer:
Gifts with Purchase: Some of our most popular promotions are complimentary gifts with purchase, from cosmetics and fragrances to hats and golf balls. These promotions are typically associated with a specific brand, item or minimum order total. If shipping to multiple destinations, the gift will automatically ship to the billing address.
Buy & Save: This promotion allows our customers to receive a discount by purchasing multiples of one item or specified group of items. The discount will apply in the Checkout process.
Employee Discount: Nordstrom employees may enter their employee numbers in the promotion code field during the Checkout process.
How do I use a promotion code?
Promotion Code: You may qualify for a promotion that is associated with a specific code. Promotion codes can be found on the promotion or product details page. To retrieve your gift, enter the code in the promotion code field in the payment section during the Checkout process. Promotion codes are not case sensitive.
Automatic: Many promotions do not require a promotion code and will automatically be added to your order during the Checkout process. You can see that the promotion has been added at the bottom of the Checkout page.
Are there any restrictions for promotions?
Promotions may be limited to purchases from participating brands, a specified group of items or a minimum order price. All promotions are available for a limited time during indicated dates, and only while supply lasts. Promotional offers do not apply to international orders.
Does Nordstrom offer coupons?
We do not offer Nordstrom coupons for sales or discounts. Any references to "Nordstrom Coupon," "Nordstrom Coupon Code" or "Nordstrom Discount Code" on other sites are not valid. However, we do offer promotions on selected items.
