Frequently asked questions about the O2 app

Support for the O2 operating system app on iOS 14 is changing, what does this mean for me?

We are constantly improving the O2 application and trying to bring customers new functionalities, higher comfort and safety when using it. On 05/09/2022, the O2 application will be updated from the current version to the new version, which will only be available for versions of Apple devices with the iOS 14 operating system and higher. The reason for changing the minimum supported version is Apple's policy, which does not allow developers to use the latest technologies in app development without moving to a higher minimum supported version.

Due to the proper functioning of the O2 application, it is necessary to update the operating system to a newer version of iOS after 05/09/2022. Go to Settings → General → Software Update → Click Install. You can also find detailed instructions on how to proceed on Apple's website.

After updating the application, it will not be possible to use the O2 application on iPhone 6, iPhone 5s and older devices, due to the loss of technical support for the operating system version lower than iOS 14. To keep track of your phone number, you will use the customer zone, which you can find on the My O2 website. There you can check your consumption, view and pay invoices, activate a service package and top up your credit. If you have any questions, you can contact us online (WhatsApp, chat, etc.), by phone or in person at the store.

If you want to continue using the O2 application, the solution is to get a device that supports a higher version of the operating system.

Why can't I find the O2 app in the Apple App Store?

We recommend that you check the operating system version on your phone, which must be higher than iOS 14.

I have an Android, what should I do?

The O2 app will automatically work on all newer Android devices after the update.

Is only the name of the app changing or from My O2 to the O2 app or are the features also changing?

We changed the name from My O2 to O2 app so that everyone can find it easier and remember its name. Otherwise, it takes over all the functions and logic of the good old My O2 app, so you don't have to worry about anything.
