- Children under 6 years old travel for free.
- Persons eligible for discount fares, such as 65-year old persons, young people from 7 to 18 years old and students, must issue or have a personalized ATH.ENA CARD, if they wish to use the specific products.
- You must validate your ticket or card at the blue validating machines located inside the buses, the trolley buses and the tram each time you board them.
- When you use the metro, you should validate your ticket or card at the gates, both upon entering and exiting the station.
- If during check-in you do not present a valid ticket or card, you will be charged with a fine amounting to €72 or €36 for persons eligible for discount ticket.
- Keep ATH.ENA TICKET in good condition to reload it with the same or another travel product. Please note that for its reloading, the validity time of the last ticket you validated must have expired.
- Should you need any guidance, seek help from the station staff.
- If you already have an ATH.ENA CARD do not load it with an Airport ticket, when there is an activated product with a set period of time or a remaining ticket bundle. In that case, choose to add the relevant price in monetary value.

FAQs:
What product categories does the e-ticketing system support?
- The e-ticketing system supports two product categories:
Fixed-term products, all types of products (from the 90-minute single ticket to the 365 day-pass for one year).
Stored value (euros), which you may use as an e-wallet from which the value of one way journey is deducted (e.g. €1.20 for a one way journey or a one way journey to the airport by bus or metro).
What are the e-ticketing products?
- 1. Multiple ATH.ENA Ticket: this is a reloadable ticket valid for multiple journeys that you can top up with fare products meeting your personal public transport needs (e.g. single, daily, 5-day tickets etc.) based on your entitlement to discount fare pricing.
2. Anonymous ATH.ENA Card: this card includes all fare products with duration of less than a month that can be also loaded on the Multiple ATH.ENA Ticket plus the option to store money value that can be automatically used for paying individual journeys. This type of card does not provide you the possibility to load any discount fare product on it.
3. Personalized ATH.ENA Card: this card includes all fare products, tickets, 30/30/180/365-day passes including all discount fare products plus the option to store money value.
Where and how to get an Anonymous ATH.ENA Card?
- You may buy an Anonymous ATH.ENA Card at any Urban Rail Transport (STASY) and the Road Transport (OSY) ticket counter, without need for disclosing your personal information data.
