Booking Steps

Step 1: Open the official website and enter your start and end location dates

Step 2: Confirm the number of people and what kind of tickets you want to buy

   Then the second step is to confirm the number of people and whether there are any other additional needs or use of relevant status discounts.

   Also make sure you want to buy a day pass, a monthly pass, or you just need to make a reservation.

Step 3: Select the bus time and whether the fare is flexible

Step 4: Confirm whether you want to increase the fare to a first-class carriage and whether you want to make a reservation

Step 5: Enter the passenger’s English name

Step 6: Confirm all information once

   Please be sure to double-check that your booking information is correct. Especially if you choose a non-refundable fare, if you pay without confirmation, it will be completely non-refundable if you need to change or cancel later.

Step 7: After confirming all information, make payment

Step 8: Save the ticket file and print the ticket

   A page will appear allowing you to choose whether you want to print the ticket as a PDF or collect it at the station.

Real-time information on your trains? No problem: simply set your favourite routes as favourites and your personal departures will be displayed in real time on your homescreen in the ÖBB app.

Do you absolutely want a window seat? Consider it done: simply select your favourite seat on the Railjet using the seat reservation graphic, select the Railjet connection you want, click on Reservation and click on "Seat selection" in the reservation details.

Clicked too quickly? It happens: you can cancel any ticket purchase you made within 3 minutes after booking with a simple click. This even applies to Sparscheine tickets.

Want to see bargains first? Nothing easier: you can use the price filter to sort by the cheapest ÖBB offers. 

Weekly or monthly tickets starting to accumulate in your wallet? There’s a better way: you can now simply book via the ÖBB app and save them in your account - from the comfort of your couch! 

Travelling with friends? All the better: tickets and reservations for accompanying passengers, bicycles and dogs can also be purchased in the app.

Display tickets or discount cards with just one click? The new ÖBB app widgets make it possible! With the widgets, simply place tickets, Vorteilscard or KlimaTicket on the home screen of your smartphone and display them with just one click in the event of an inspection.
