This is what you can do with the Okta Verify app:

- Add accounts that require Okta Verify for authentication.

- Confirm your identity to prove that you're the one who tries to access the resources protected by Okta.

- Manage the enrolled accounts.

- Review the terms and conditions, privacy policy, and third-party software notices.

I got a new device, don't have my previous one, and don't have an Okta Verify account on another device. I also don't have another Okta security methods set up. Can I reinstall Okta Verify and set it up myself without contacting my IT administrator?

No. If none of the following conditions apply, contact your company's help desk.

- You have your previous device with Okta Verify installed on it.

- You have an active Okta Verify account on another device.

- You have an additional Okta security method set up.

I deleted Okta Verify from my device. Can I reinstall it myself without contacting my IT administrator?

If you have Okta Verify installed on a different device, or other Okta security methods set up, such as Phone (SMS or Voice Call), or Security Key or Biometric authenticator, you can recover your account. 

What is the secret key and do I need it to sign in to my account?

When you enroll your device with Okta Verify, you have different options, depending on your company's configuration. If you can't set up your account with a QR code, Okta generates a secret key that you can enter in Okta Verify to set up your account. The secret key isn't the Okta Verify 6-digit code that you enter in the sign-in window when you access your Okta-protected apps. 

To enroll your device in Okta, we request permission to use your device camera for scanning QR codes.

    Verification methods are not flexible. I would never choose to download this basic model, but my university made me. It has been a terrible and time-consuming experience. If you don't have your mobile, you can't log in. Why not use email verification? The worst part is that it's mandatory. Such a waste of time. University of Sydney gets 0 stars, as does this app.

    Getting push notifications is usually fine, but sometimes they come late and I end up receiving multiple notifications all at the same time. The most frustrating part is when you switch to a new phone, you have to contact your IT department to reset your 2FA and set it up again. It's very inconvenient compared to other 2FA systems that simply send a code via text or email. Security measures should not make it harder for authorized users to access their accounts. While the idea is good, the implementation is awful.

    I needed to log in for work using the required app. It got stuck at the first step where it kept providing verification numbers repeatedly without progress. The app's interface isn't easy to use; it could be more straightforward. Instead of guiding me, it just kept generating new numbers endlessly. After a line appeared at the top, it presented another number, but didn't explain what to do next. I thought about entering that number on the page for a secret key, but not all the numbers were accepted.

    It works as described. Sometimes, when I receive a login notification and click 'Yes it's me,' it doesn't always work from the notification panel. I have to open the app and approve the login. Please solve this issue.

    It was working fine before, just had to click 'yes it's me'. But now I have to enter a code every time. Update: It's fixed now.

    The app is all good now. Initially, it kept crashing and getting stuck on the logo for a while without showing the code. The developer needs to fix this bug to make it smoother.
