How to create an Ola account?

Here are a few tips to help you get started with Ola:

- While registering, please select your signup country and enter the mobile number that you would like to use to book an Ola ride. You will receive an OTP on your phone to verify your mobile number.

-Next, enter the details such as your name and email to create an Ola account. Once you've filled in all the details, tap REGISTER.  

If you have a referral code, you can apply the referral code in Got a referral code?  You can earn a free-ride coupon by entering a referral code while signing up. You can get the referral code from a friend who has an Ola account. The referral code can be found in the Refer & Earn section of your friend's Ola app.

Note- If the mobile number entered is correct and you haven’t received the SMS with OTP details, you can request for OTP again by clicking on Resend OTP or  Get OTP over a call.

Please note that there is a limit on the number of accounts that can be created on one mobile device.

How can I check the fare for my Ola ride?

Select the Rate Card option available in the Ola app menu to check the fares for Ola rides in different cities.

Checking the Fare for a Cab Category

Just double-tap or press and hold a cab category icon (Ex: Mini, Sedan or Prime) on the Ola app to know the per kilometer charge of that cab category.

Checking Total Fare

Alternately, you can also enter the drop location and choose the cab category to check the estimated Total Fare for your ride.  

Note- The estimated total fare for your ride may vary due to traffic conditions or any variation in distance traveled.

What is advance booking fee?

Advance booking fee is a flat amount charged on all Ride Later bookings. Once your ride later booking is confirmed, you will be informed via SMS on your registered mobile number about the advance booking fee applicable on your ride.

The fee will be added to your ride bill on completion of the trip.

You can always check the invoice sent to your registered email id for understanding the fare breakup of your ride.

    So, I've run into a couple of problems recently and I tried to give feedback through the app, but couldn't find the option. Today, you sent two cars with two OTPs for the same trip. Back in February last year, I signed up for phase 1, but in the driver's app, it showed a location in Basant Vihar instead of Vasant Vihar. I only found out after reaching the wrong place since I was busy and not actively tracking my location. Please fix these issues, although overall the app is pretty good. Thanks for your attention.

    So, I finished my ride and the app wanted me to rate it. Since the cab was kinda stinky, I gave it a lower rating. And hey, the first reason on the list for why I didn't like the ride was the smell. It seemed like the previous person might have picked that too! I see this as a cue that Ola will let the driver know about the smell issue so he can try to make things better next time.

    I've been using the app cabs from this service for a few months now, especially during the pandemic when traveling within the city. It's so much better than Uber. One tip is to make sure your location is saved in the app before booking a ride. This helps avoid confusion for cab drivers who might have trouble finding your pick-up spot if it's not well-known.

    Oh man, I had this issue where the driver canceled my booking and then I got charged Rs. 15 for it. But luckily, the driver called their helpline and they fixed everything right away. It got me thinking, it'd be great to have a helpline number we could call ourselves in case of emergencies. Despite that hiccup, I must say, we can always rely on getting a rickshaw fast and at reasonable rates.

    So, if you need to grab a taxi, they charge more and only accept cash. It seems pretty silly because I could just wave one down and pay less! The previous options were definitely more convenient. Plus, it's frustrating that you can't find any available bookings when you really need them, like late at night or early in the morning when there are no other transportation options. I'll give them two stars for the few comfortable rides I've had with them.

    So, the new Ola app doesn't let you call or email customer support. Even though they talk about how to call in the help section, the button for making a call is nowhere to be found - not on the app or their website (whether you're using your phone or computer). Basically, Ola has made it impossible to reach customer support outside of the app. So if you have a problem, you're out of luck with the current version of the app because you can't get through to customer service!
