One Punch Man: The Strongest guide — Tips for beginners

How auto-play works

You won't unlock auto-play for battles until you've completed the tutorial. Auto-battling provides some control whenever you need it; you can intervene in the targeting and select which unit to prioritize basic attacking or ultimate usage. To turn on the auto-battler, tap on Manual at the top.

Putting together an unstoppable team of heroes or villains

Forming the ultimate team takes patience and luck. To acquire most of the characters, you must dip into this game's gacha system. We've outlined how you can get some freebies, how recruitment works, and the team synergy you'll need to consider once you've gathered enough pieces.

How to get more characters

You can recruit some characters for free just by logging in for seven days, playing through events, and completing chapters in the story. Not all character power levels are equal, so prepare to ditch your N and R rarities as you gather SR and SSR characters.

One Punch Man - The Strongest

To recruit characters via gacha, you need Heroic Vouchers and Superb Vouchers. You can acquire Heroic Vouchers by spending Gems or earn them by playing. To start summoning on the banner, you'll pull in singles or 10-pulls; both banners offer different rates and slightly different character pools, but don't be afraid to spend your vouchers as soon as you obtain some!

How to re-roll in One Punch Man: The Strongest

Sign into a guest account.

Complete the tutorial, and claim all rewards (if applicable) by tapping the mail icon.

Check your bag and tap on any packs or chests.

Perform your first 10-pull.

If you like the results, keep playing on that account. You can link accounts later after you've logged back into the app. Otherwise, uninstall the app from your Android device and reinstall it to re-perform the above steps. See the tip and tricks to becoming the ultimate hero/villain section for a short list of the most helpful SSRs on new accounts.

Team resonances

While forming your lineup (tap Character > Lineup), you can unlock Core Skills. Core Skills is the overall team buff you'll bring into every battle; the default is Justice Power I. Your Core Skills unlock if they meet the requirements. Requirements are met by having certain character types placed in your lineup.

Every character has a type, and you can view the type by the icon next to a character's portrait. Mixing up types is the way to go, as this will ensure you have an activated basic Core Skill and an advanced one set.

Important upgrade systems for account progression

You simply cannot ignore upgrading your characters. Otherwise, you'll get pummeled by bosses and stand no chance of winning in the Arena (your characters are locked to auto-battle while fighting in the Arena). So here's a quick rundown of which upgrade systems are available early game.

Your level cap

Every character has a level cap; to increase it, you have to evolve that character. Evolution increases base stats and requires materials/to reach the cap. To level up your characters, you can acquire experience in battle or use EXP items.

One Punch Man - The Strongest

Limit breaking

Limit breaking units increase their star level; you acquire limit break badges participating in boss challenges and uncovering character shards. Limit breaks increase your base stats and unlock passive skills after reaching two stars.

One Punch Man - The Strongest

Training your skills

Sharpening your skills is par for the course. Training increases your skill stats by randomly distributing Skill Points. You can buy Skill Points, and you gain some by leveling. Once you reach a limit for your skills, you can increase the skill limit to up the level limit.

Social features in One Punch Man: The Strongest

It's no secret that we want to gab out about our fan favorites while playing this game. Even though One Punch Man: The Strongest isn't an MMO, we have ways to connect with other players using social features in-game.

The friend list

You can access your friend list next to the mail and community option. You have lists labeled "friend" and "stranger" that hold up to 50 players each. You can add anyone on either list, but using the stranger list can help you sort out players you've just met. The block list holds 100 players, and anyone added to the list you can't start a conversation or see their messages.

One Punch Man - The Strongest

Adding players to your friend list gives you the option to gift and receive Stamina. Stamina is essential for your daily in-game progress with quests and battles; your Stamina refills with items or over time but can potentially gate you out of content once you're low.

What are clubs and how to unlock clubs

You must meet the level requirement to unlock clubs; clubs are only unlocked once you've reached level 20. Clubs are like guilds or groups of players; you can join a club by accessing the Select Club menu and tapping Quick Join.

One Punch Man - The Strongest

Remember that clubs have set requirements to join, depending on your level and BP. So it may require some grinding before you can find a suitable club to join. Clubs also have levels, and activity points (acquired by completing club quests) needed to unlock club-related features and activities.

Tips and tricks to becoming the ultimate hero/villain

Speed stat is vital; it determines how fast you act in battle.

Buff up before firing an ultimate; always maximize your hit.

Use a mixture of column and row attackers to optimize your attack range (aim for full coverage).

Inflict status elements for passive damage; Genos can burn his opponents!

Claim every chest on the map; every material is necessary for upgrading.

Call on Saitama's One Punch, essentially your get-out-of-jail-free card for tough/repetitious battles.

Raise your account (team) level, do this by completing Quests.

Be selective on character investment, or play to re-roll; the best (more helpful) SSRs for new accounts are Child Emperor, Carnage Kabuto, Terrible Tornado, and Atomic Samurai.

Save and collect as many Gems as you can; never spend to refill on Gold since Gold is a lot easier to acquire (a more common resource).

Do not neglect to gear up your SR units; SSRs provide carry potential, but SR units are excellent supports for your SSRs.

Listening to my experience with both games, this one definitely stands out compared to One Punch Man Road to Hero 2.0. I really enjoyed playing it a lot in the past, but sadly I had to stop because I lost my account when I changed phones. The new game is proving to be a significant upgrade from Road to Hero 2.0. I am excited about the possibilities of having more characters and content added over time. This game seems to be more giving than the previous one. Just when I was losing hope of getting any SSR characters, I unexpectedly obtained two SSRs and one SR character.

Listen, I've been into this game for over half a year now. And can you believe it? There's zero talk directly from the folks running the show to us, the players. Customer service? It's all robots in there, no real human touch. We pour out our hearts with suggestions and complaints, but does anyone bother to listen? Not really. Right now, we're stuck in this 48-hour bug mess, and guess what? No one's on it fixing things. It's like we're stranded in the middle of nowhere. My advice? Steer clear of any games from these guys. Trust me on that one.

I'm thrilled by this game! It's just like the anime, following the events exactly as they happened in the show! It's so creatively made with all the different ways you can power up characters from the anime like Boros, Carnage Kabuto, and Atomic Samurai. And on top of that, there are loads of fun mini-games to play like Saitama exploration, Club Games, and Arena battling! Such an amazing game, can't wait for new updates!

The game has a quick tempo, keeping you engaged throughout. There's always something to do, even if you've run out of energy for the main game. The upgrades and gear, along with the different characters, allow you to strategize according to your preferred style of play. Every character, even the more common ones, has its own unique purpose, making them all essential in the gameplay. The one downside is that you need to earn stars in exploration mode to unlock story mode.

So, the starting idea is good - but dang, they really messed up the details. The chances of getting good stuff in the game are so slim it's frustrating. And the balance? Forget about it. You'll get left in the dust because you can't snag any strong characters with those awful odds. Plus, having to roam around all the time just feels like a waste. It's not fun, it's just confusing and makes things drag on. And don't even get me started on the energy system - it's a mess. You burn through it way too fast, which means leveling up your characters takes forever because each upgrade costs so much energy. On top of that, they barely hand out any freebies to help out.

This game is awesome! It's so much fun. I hope they don't fill it with ads. It's been ages since I enjoyed a game this much. There's so many things to do and tons of cool characters to collect. The story modes and animations are fantastic and stay true to the original show.

I just started playing this game not long ago, and I have to say I'm having a great time with it. The game has an engaging story, awesome animations, a wide variety of characters, various game modes, and it's easy to pick up and play. The voice acting is top-notch and adds to the enjoyment. While it can be a bit time-consuming to progress, there are plenty of missions to complete that offer rewards. The upgrade system works well, and overall, it's a really solid game.
