One time password (OTP) - OTP generation & security

When accessing online banking and signing payment orders with BankID, you will be required to use a One Time Password (OTP) for authorization.

This OTP application can serve as an alternative to other methods for obtaining OTPs, such as traditional OTP generators.

For support catered to individuals who are blind or partially sighted, the SVOX classic engine must be installed since the default Text-to-Speech engine PCOS does not accommodate Norwegian. Retrieve and set up the SVOX classic engine from Google Play. After activation, support for Norwegian and English data should be purchased within SVOX.

Upon completing the installation, ensure that the default language for text-to-speech is set before restarting your phone.

Android versions 4.0 and above include the "Explore by Touch" feature, which provides enhanced voice over support. This functionality is not available on earlier Android iterations.

How to use the One-time password mobile app

You will need a one-time password to log on to the Internet bank or Mobile bank. The code is available from the "One-time password/Engangskode på mobil app". Here's how:

- Download the One-time password mobile app from App Store or Google Play

- Enter the 8-digit personal identification code you received by SMS

- Enter the 4-digit activation code you received by e-mail

- Create a personal code, or register your fingerprint

The app is now ready for use. You can use it to order a one-time password when you want to log in to the Internet bank or Mobile bank, or to accept payments

Permissions:

The OTP app requires certain permissions:

- Full network access – is necessary for generating new OTP codes.

- Read phone status and identity – this access ensures compatibility with older Android versions and relates to “phone calls,” a standard requirement previously.

- View network connections – needed for providing feedback on connectivity issues.

You have the choice to allow these permissions, but if any are denied, we cannot assure the application's functionality. It is required to grant all listed permissions and not just select some. The permissions requested pertain to your data and the functioning of the application itself.
