🔍 Scan, Discover & Compare Over 3 Million Food Products

In essence, it is likened to being "the Wikipedia of food", as dubbed by many. Open Food Facts has facilitated the development of over 100 apps such as Date Limite, Yuka, or FoodVisor.

I have seen three negative reviews about the app. One was about a bug that I haven't experienced, so it might have been fixed now. Another was due to the person misunderstanding the app, thinking that the developers are using users to grow their business. It's funny because the same person probably uses MyFitnessPal instead of OpenFoodFacts for this reason. In reality, MyFitnessPal profits by harvesting user data and adding new products to their database through user input. On the other hand, OFF is non-profit and open source, providing an ethical alternative that doesn't take advantage of users. The third person was unhappy because what they scanned wasn't in OFF's database. This is because OFF is still developing and refining compared to MyFitnessPal, which is a common difference between open source and proprietary options. OFF is like a food-focused Wikipedia, relying on contributions from users to build its database. Instead of writing a negative review, this person could have spent five minutes contributing to OFF. Understanding what OFF offers can help avoid complaints. If you do have any concerns, the beauty of open-source software is that you can contribute and help improve the project.

Your camera on the LeEco x722 phone running LineageOS 11 with a Sony Exmor camera sensor is not functioning. When you try to use it, a loading circle appears indefinitely on a black screen. You are unable to take photos in either scanning mode. In the latest update for 2024, tapping on the 'camera' button does not even open the app anymore.
