Develop a sticker app

You can also create your own stickers and package them into your app, then publish them to the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Once your app is published, users can download and install it to use your stickers in WhatsApp. WhatsApp stickers must be legitimate, authorized, and accepted by our Terms of Service. For more information on acceptable use of our services, please see our Terms of Service.

We also provide sample apps and code for Android and iOS. With minimal development or coding experience, you can add textures and build apps. Advanced developers can also use a range of APIs and interfaces supported by WhatsApp to create a richer and more diverse sticker app.

Please read the texture design requirements below. For requirements and tips when creating a sticker app, see the README file related to the sample app.

Note: When creating a sticker app for iOS, develop your own user interface (UI) and don't use the user interface of our sample app. Proprietary user interfaces (UIs) are subject to Apple's App Store Review Guidelines.

Custom maps must meet the following requirements:

The map must have a transparent background.

Textures must be 512x512 pixels.

The file size of each sticker cannot exceed 100 KB.

Please provide an icon to represent your sticker pack in the WhatsApp sticker picker or tray. Icons must be 96x96 pixels and no larger than 50 KB.

In addition, we strongly recommend that you comply with the following requirements:

The background of the texture is usually white, black, colorful, or colorful. We recommend that you add an 8-pixel #FFFFFF stroke to the periphery of each sticker. 

There should be a 16-pixel-wide margin between the mapped image and the edge of the 512x512 px canvas.

The latest versions of WhatsApp for Android and iOS support stickers. If you don't see stickers, update to the latest version of WhatsApp in your phone's app store.
