How to use

1. How do I turn off auto-renewal or cancel my subscription?

You can cancel your Planta subscription’s auto-renewal at any time by following the steps below. You will continue to have access to the premium content until the subscription's expiration date. Steps to end subscription auto-renewal from your Planta app:

    Go to "My Plants" tab

    Open Settings (tap the gear icon at the top right corner)

    Tap "Account"

    Select “Manage Subscription” and you will be redirected to your phone’s subscriptions settings. Follow the instructions here for changing or canceling your subscription. Please note if you subscribed to Planta via web, you’ll be redirected to Planta’s website to manage your subscription.

2. How can I find Dr. Planta?

Dr.Planta is a premium feature. You can access Dr. Planta like this:

    Tap the stethoscope in the bottom tabs

    Select  to diagnose a plant

    Follow the instructions on the screen 

3. How can I add photos of my plants?

Here's how to add photos / images of your plants:

    Tap the plus button in the bottom right corner in the main page (to do-list) 

    Select "Add task to a plant" 

    Pick plant

    Tap button "Photo"

    Take a new picture with your camera or select an image from your photo library

    Choose if you want to star this photo and it will be used as the plants cover photo

Save!

4. How does Planta use weather data to give accurate care advice?

Planta uses your location data to give you the correct local weather. To be able to give as accurate a forecast as possible, Planta uses weather data from +47,000 live weather stations around the globe. To be even more precise, Planta uses data from multiple sources.

The weather and temperature are used to schedule your watering tasks as accurately as possible. The weather data is also used to alert you about weather conditions, for example when you need to give your plants extra care because of heat waves, or when there will be freezing temperatures and you need to protect your plants. Planta will also notify you whenever it has rained on your outdoor locations.

Troubleshooting

1. My Planta app is crashing (iOS)

If your Planta app starts crashing (closing down without notice) you can follow these steps to try and fix the issue:

iOS: 

    Go to iPhone Settings and tap your profile (your name in the top)

    Tap "iCloud"

    Tap "Manage Storage" - on this screen, you will see your current iCloud storage available.

    Select "Backups" from the list. You will see all devices that are currently using the iCloud backup storage.

    Choose the current iPhone you are using. Hint: It will say "This iPhone"

    You will see a small list of apps under "Choose Data to Back Up" (It make take some time for it to load, just wait). Tap "Show All Apps"

    Find the Planta app in the list and slide the white dot to the left so that the color changes from green to white.

    A window will pop up that asks "Do you want to turn off Planta backups and delete the backup data from iCloud?" Tap Turn Off & Delete

    Go back to iPhone Settings > General > iPhone Storage. Scroll down to the list of apps and tap Planta

    Next, tap "Delete App" and tap again to confirm.

    Now your Planta app will be permanently deleted on your iPhone (and other iOS devices)

    Restart your phone

    Now go to the App Store and reinstall Planta

    Login with your email and password 

Android:

    Open the settings app and select “storage”

    In the resulting list, tap the apps entry

    This will take you to a list of all the apps installed on your phone.

    Choose the app whose cache you want to clear.

    On the app's info page, tap the “Clear Cache” option.

    If the above didn't work, clear also “storage”, you'll remove all data from the app.

    If you still have issues with the app crashing after these steps you should contact our support from within the app and we'll investigate.

2. How to update the app

You can update your Planta app to the latest version by following the steps below:

On Apple iOS:

    Search for the Planta App in the App Store on your iPhone.

    Once you locate the app, tap the "Update" button on the right side to download the latest version.

    You will see the Planta icon on your phone turn grey, and a circle will appear showing the download/install progress.

    Once it's complete, tap the Planta icon to be taken to the updated app!

On Android:

    Open the Google Play Store

    Locate the Planta app - you can either search it in the search bar or tap the left-hand corner and select "My apps"

    If there is a new update available for Planta, it will appear under the first list, labelled "Updates"

    Just tap "Update" next to Planta, and the app will start downloading and installing the latest update

    You can also enable automatic updates in your Play Store settings
