Prodigy, a math game embraced by over a million educators and 50 million students globally, has revolutionized education through game-based learning. By providing an interactive platform where players must answer math questions to progress, Prodigy ensures an engaging and rewarding learning experience while promoting skill-building. The best part is that all educational resources are not only effective and captivating but also completely free of charge!

Acknowledging that each student encounters distinct mathematical challenges, Prodigy customizes content to address individual strengths and weaknesses. The math questions are in full alignment with state curricula like Common Core and TEKS, thus seamlessly integrating classroom learning with the game. With 1,400 skills available, students are offered ample opportunities for growth and learning.

For parents interested in monitoring their child's math practice, a complimentary parent account can be connected at prodigygame.com. This account enables parents to track their child's progress, comprehend their understanding levels, set goals, and provide incentives to encourage further math practice.

While Prodigy offers a premium membership with added benefits such as accelerated leveling, enhanced playtime, exclusive features like pets and game areas, and additional rewards, it's important to note that all educational content remains cost-free and will always be accessible as such.

For those keen on exploring Prodigy further or getting started, the platform has been recognized by esteemed organizations like the American Association of School Librarians and Common Sense Education for its excellence in teaching support. Prodigy holds certifications from iKeepSafe, including FERPA and COPPA Safe Harbor certifications, ensuring a secure online environment for users.

How does Prodigy Math work?

Prodigy Math uses its game-based environment to make practicing math as fun and engaging as possible for kids.

Here's how it works:

1. Your child joins Prodigy Math and begins their adventure

Once your child signs up to Prodigy Math, they'll create their very own avatar that represents them.

They'll then enter Prodigy Island – a fantasy world filled with magical creatures called pets.

When your child joins Prodigy, they will learn that these pets are under the wicked spell of the Puppet Master. It's the player's job to stop the Puppet Master and help free the pets from his spell.

Prodigy Island is filled with different worlds for your child to explore. Each world has its own quests, characters and pets to rescue and collect.

2. They encounter virtual pets to battle and rescue

As your child is exploring the different worlds, they'll encounter pets they must battle.

Prodigy Island is filled with over 100 different pets, with new ones being added. Each pet belongs to a specific element and can get stronger by earning experience points in battles against other pets and foes.

3. They answer math questions to advance

In order to cast a spell or use their pet in battle, your child is given a math question they must answer correctly for their move to succeed.

This is where the magic really kicks in.

Powered by our adaptive algorithm, each math question is tailored to your child's curriculum and their individual skill level. If your child is using Prodigy Math in school, the content will also reflect what they're currently learning there too. Who knew homework could be so fun and rewarding!?

4. They progress in math

Once they've completed their math battle, your child's character and their pets will receive experience points which will level them up over time. As they level up, they'll unlock new areas to explore, spells to cast and much more!

There's also plenty of quests, tasks, and seasonal festivals to keep your child engaged in math battles all year round. Completing these events will give them rewards like new outfits, furniture for their virtual home, and even buddies (small animals) that will walk alongside them on their adventures.

There's this amazing game that I think everyone should try out. It helps you improve your math skills and you'll have a blast playing it. I've been hooked on it since I was a little kid. It can be a bit childish, and the membership might be pricey for some activities within the game. But trust me, it's worth it. It's both fun and educational, and you'll find yourself getting addicted to it in no time. Plus, it's a fantastic way to kill time!

The game is great for enjoying a RPG world while improving your math skills. You can collect pets and purchase cosmetic items, and there's an option to buy a membership for more cosmetics. It would be nice if the difficulty of the math questions matched my grade level better. I'm in 6th grade and finding it strange to be getting 7th-8th grade math questions. I can answer them, but it's a bit unsettling. Please adjust this and continue doing a great job! :)

You really enjoy playing Prodigy, but it's frustrating that membership is required for pet evolution and climbing the Dark Tower. It's also annoying that rescuing a pet costs after sacrificing others. Some classmates at school feel the same way, with some even quitting due to the heavy reliance on membership. Making the game more enjoyable and accessible might attract more players while still generating income.

You really like Prodigy a lot, but it's quite frustrating that you need membership for almost everything! Not being able to evolve your pets without membership is a big drawback. The constant membership ads are just too much. It used to be your favorite game, but membership has taken over. It got so bad that you deleted the app from your phone and stopped playing on your computer. The whole membership situation has really soured the game for you and many others. It needs to be sorted out.

My kids really enjoy this game a lot, and I totally understand why. It would be better if they could get pets without needing a membership, but it's still very engaging. My little one can play because it helps her with 1st-grade problems, and my older child is on level 50 and still having fun. I wouldn't recommend parents trying to play at an 8th-grade level though - it can be a blow to your confidence.
