To make it easier for telecom users, PTA has introduced a Mobile App for Complaint Management System (CMS).

The App includes the following features:

- Register complaints regarding different services such as telecom services provided by service operators, mobile registration/ DIRBS, stolen mobile devices/IMEI related complaints, internet content-related issues, etc.

- Monitor the progress of a complaint and check its status.

- Provide feedback on the complaint.

- Access the complaint history of each user.

- Offer consumer education on various topics.

Q What information is required for lodging complains to PTA

A Following information shall be mandatory before accepting a complaint.

  Name, contact details of the complainant

  Unique Complaint Number given by the respective licensee to the complainant

  Time of lodging complaint to operator/Expiry of the timeline provided by the licensee to the complainant for the redressal of the said complaint

  Brief details of the nature of the complaint.

PTA's functions include:

To regulate the establishment, operation and maintenance of telecommunication systems and provision of telecommunication services in Pakistan.

To receive and expeditiously dispose of applications for the use of radio-frequency spectrum.

To promote and protect the interests of users of telecommunication services in Pakistan.

To promote the availability of a wide range of high quality, efficient, cost effective and competitive telecommunication services throughout Pakistan.

To promote rapid modernization of telecommunication systems and telecommunication services.

To investigate and adjudicate on complaints and other claims made against licensees arising out of alleged contraventions of the provisions of this Act, the rules made and licenses issued there under and take action accordingly.

To make recommendations to the Federal Government on policies with respect to international telecommunications, provision of support for participation in international meetings and agreements to be executed in relation to the routing of international traffic and accounting settlements.

To perform such other functions as the Federal Government may assign from time to time.

    The PTA CMS app is really easy to use. It's user friendly and quick, giving responses within seconds. Guidelines are provided on each line making it even easier to navigate. I have submitted many complaints on the app and instantly received a complaint number. Operators called me regarding my issues, and I also received information messages when I launched a complaint or when my complaint was closed. It's a great app for telecom-related complaints.
