PunBall Beginner’s Guide: Tips, Tricks & Strategies to Defeat Your Enemies

SHOOTING AND COMBAT TIPS

PunBall

Good aim, target prioritization, and proper powerup choices is PunBall’s game. You’ll notice very quickly that the best way to rack up damage and combos is to get your shots bouncing between enemies repeatedly, or into the enemy backline to bounce between them and the back wall. Here are some tips for fighting in the field.

Aim True, Use The Grid

PunBall

Barring extreme angle shots or aiming nearly straight forward, aiming with the grid is a good way to make sure your shots land. They’ll more or less follow the diagonal grid if you’re shooting at roughly 45 degrees, allowing you to do stuff like pass shots through angled gaps or snipe enemies with bounce shots.

It gets more difficult at harsher angles, though it’s still a good guide to give you an idea where your shots will go. Also, remember that you aren’t on a timer: Aim carefully and patiently, make the most out of every shot.

Look For Weak Spots In The Enemy Line

PunBall

The best way to do heavy damage to the field is to let your shots penetrate through the enemy line, then bounce behind everyone repeatedly. Unfortunately, the enemy is often in the way of the juicy, juicy backline.

This means you have to look for weakspots  to smash through (Whether it be a thinner part of the line, or an open spot guarded only bu a relatively low HP target, or a small nook that might let shots bounce a lot) so your shots can reach the back. Sometimes, it may be worth it to take a hit just to do this: You don’t want them plugging up that gap and killing you a few turns later, especially if there are Summoners in the field.

A Few Game Changing Powerups

PunBall

Among all the powerups in Punball you can get, there are a few of them that, when found, tend to allow a serious snowball. The Black Hole Ball and the Shadow Clone combo special. These two together are incredibly powerful, since they fill their specific roles very well. The Black Hole Ball is an attack that deals severe damage (It can do roughly 17k damage if you’re at a level where your normal shots do 550 damage per hit or so), but only bounces on walls and not enemies, immediately disappearing upon hitting a target. It is always the first shot to come out.

When paired with the triple damage of Starting Charge or extra Black Hole Balls, this allows you to more or less delete single high value targets like Peashooters and enemies a bit too close for comfort, and most importantly, force an opening into the enemy line. Once that line is broken, that’s when the Shadow Clone combo powerup comes in. Shadow Clone is a simple, cheap combo based powerup that spawns a new ball for every 30 hits you do in a shot.

Get even a few balls into the backline and you can rack up what is essentially a self-feeding combo that has the capability of ripping even the thickest of enemy formations to pieces. You usually also have a ton of other balls by the time you get them, so those will do their jobs too. On top of all this, you can also start piling up combo powerups so those giant multi-hundred hit combos do yet more damage to the enemy in the field.

Positioning

PunBall

Your shots also determine where your character, the Mage, moves. The Mage will follow the spot where the first ball (unless it’s a Split Ball’s babies since they don’t follow every other ball’s trajectory) returns.

If you can’t get a good angle on your target, it may be worth trying to reposition with your shot instead of trying to get the most damage efficient shot you can get from such a bad angle, since you’re not gonna get much out of staying there anyway.

I'm still giving the game one star in my review. There's this bug where the balls return to me instead of continuing to hit the enemy, even when they're still bouncing and causing damage. Sometimes they even pass through the enemies just to come back to me for no apparent reason. The game is enjoyable, but this bug has caused me to lose matches. If it's not fixed, I'll have to quit playing.

The game was good before, but now it's getting worse with each update. When you start playing, you have to deal with 5 screens asking for money before you can even begin. There are still bugs and issues in the gameplay that haven't been fixed. They added some new features, but they also introduced more pay-to-win elements that slow down player progress. The auto ball collection kicks in after 2 minutes, messing up combos and not really benefiting players who can collect balls manually. Just avoid this game.

I really like the game I'm playing. The gameplay is enjoyable, and I appreciate that there aren't too many ads popping up all the time. Though there are ads, they don't bother me because they're not mandatory. You can choose to watch them for a quick advantage. The option to purchase premium items with cash is also available, but you can still earn them just by playing the game regularly. This game is quite generous compared to others in terms of how much premium content you can unlock without spending real money.

I've been playing this game a lot, trying to defeat the berserker boss. I've spent around 5 days grinding and watching ads to get better equipment, but it's difficult because enemies have too much HP and my attacks don't do enough damage. It's frustrating and not as fun as it used to be. The game definitely needs some balancing.

I thought I would dislike this game because of the ads I saw all the time, but I was actually impressed by how well-made it is. Although it has some typical features like gacha and energy systems, they haven't bothered me much. The game offers many reasons to keep playing, and the gameplay itself is really enjoyable and different from others.

Oh no, this game is really frustrating me. I have been stuck on stage 115 for almost a month! I've tried everything but nothing seems to work. Plus, my character keeps leveling up, making it even more difficult. I might have to uninstall the game and give it one star until they fix the level difficulty balance. The concept is great, but the optimization is really poor.

I like this game because it has good mechanics and no ads. However, they added a tough feature where monsters can move and attack twice in the daily challenges, which makes it unbalanced compared to other power-ups. It's hard to beat the challenge on those days and you only get a limited number of tries each day.

It's fun to play because you have a lot of free stuff at first. But later on, it takes forever to advance to make you want to spend money. Some players cheat during the Raccoon battle and deal impossibly high damage. The Ruins are interesting but too hard, even with the best gear and pets.

Paying to win and microtransactions are typical here. Progression isn't really about skill, it's more about spending a lot of money or putting in lots of effort. Charging over $290 for upgrades? It feels wrong. Some people can't resist buying them and that's not good. The game sometimes freezes and you lose progress. What's worse, there are timers that limit you to only 3 attempts at a time. That's not a good way to make the game enjoyable for players. It's pretty frustrating.

The game has way too many annoying pop-ups when you start playing. They try to sell you different deals with like 6 or 7 pop-ups. Also, when you lose, they pressure you to decide quickly if you want to continue the game by reviving or just give up. Another issue is the loot boxes – your success in the game depends a lot on getting good gear from them. If you're unlucky, there's not much else you can do. Despite all this, the game actually has potential to be good.
