Raiffeisen E-Banking – simple, fast, secure!

Raiffeisen PhotoTAN is an innovative security tool for logging in and authorizing transactions within Raiffeisen E-Banking. It can be used as an alternative to the SMS-TAN. Customers using Raiffeisen E-Banking can activate Raiffeisen PhotoTAN via the platform by navigating to the options specified. An instructional guide is also available in that section.

How it works:

This method involves encoding login and transaction details into a colorful mosaic. Users photograph this colorful mosaic displayed on the screen with the camera integrated into their smartphone. The data contained within the mosaic, along with the corresponding authorization code, are decoded and displayed through the application on the smartphone. By activating the PhotoTAN app with a unique personal key-mosaic, the mosaic shown on the screen can only be deciphered by your smartphone.

If you utilize Raiffeisen Mobile Banking, the PhotoTAN app will automatically read the code in the background on the same device, eliminating the need to manually input the additional code.

No internet or phone connection is required on your smartphone for this process.

Why do I have to provide my mobile phone number?

After entering your password, you will also receive an identification code via SMS. You should use a mobile phone number that is used exclusively by you.

How can I reactivate my new smartphone or my old smartphone for PhotoTAN?

Case 1: I still have a smartphone for login

Log in to e-banking using the still-functioning smartphone via SMS or PhotoTAN. Activate your new smartphone for PhotoTAN in e-banking under Profile > Security > Login by adding a device. An existing PhotoTAN activation letter can be reused to activate additional mobile phones.

Case 2: I don’t have a working smartphone for login

On the e-banking login page, click on  “Need help logging in?” , then on “My PhotoTAN device is no longer activated” and follow the instructions.
