With just one tap, Rain Radar will display (and notify) you when rain is approaching your location. The Rain Radar data images are the most up-to-date possible and therefore more reliable than a conventional forecast. In a saturated app market, Rain Radar was specifically crafted to conserve your battery life, data usage, and processing power while providing the quickest and easiest user experience.
Rain Radar was initially released in 2014, and after over 1000 updates, it has evolved into a preferred weather companion for numerous users worldwide.
How Rain Radar Works
Rain radar operates by emitting electromagnetic waves that bounce off precipitation particles, such as raindrops, snowflakes, and hail. The radar measures the time it takes for these waves to return, allowing it to determine the distance, intensity, and type of precipitation. Key features include:
Doppler Radar: This technology measures both precipitation and wind, providing information about storm movement and intensity.
Tilt Angles: Viewing multiple tilt angles (e.g., 0.5°, 1.45°, etc.) can help assess storm structure and identify potential hazards like hail.
Most popular data includes:
- NOAA doppler precipitation radar
- Real-time lightning data
- Precipitation prediction (up to 3 hours in advance)
- Snow depth, cloud cover, temperature readings (among other features)
