App Name: RAR

Description: RAR is a comprehensive, innovative, free, user-friendly, efficient compression software that also functions as an archiver, backup tool, extractor, and basic file manager.

With RAR you can generate RAR and ZIP files, as well as extract RAR, ZIP, TAR, GZ, BZ2, XZ, 7z, ISO, and ARJ archives. Its features include a repair command for damaged ZIP and RAR files, benchmark capabilities that are compatible with WinRAR benchmark from RARLAB, recovery record, standard and recovery volumes, encryption, creation of solid archives, and the use of multiple CPU cores for faster data compression.

On top of supporting standard ZIP files, its unzip function works with ZIP and ZIPX formats compressed with algorithms like BZIP2, LZMA, PPMd, and XZ, including password-protected ZIP files. Unrar command can handle all versions of RAR archives, including the latest RAR5, and can open password-protected and multipart files.

Its file management features enable users to copy, delete, move, and rename files and folders, create new folders, and install applications from APK packages.

For those interested in translating RAR into their language, language files for RAR for Android can be downloaded from the "RAR extras" section at www.rarlab.com, along with instructions provided in the readme.txt file. Thank you.

Just so you know, when you open a RAR or ZIP file that's password-protected, it stays open and accessible at any time through any app until you delete it yourself. What actually happens is the app extracts the passworded files to one of its local folders instead of securely viewing it, and it stays there until you manually remove it. I only realized this recently. So, if you find that your internal storage or SD card is running low on memory, it could be because this particular app is occupying all the space and potentially compromising your privacy.

I've been using WinRAR for 20 years, and I just can't leave RarLab behind. This app is exactly what I need, with one little snag. I wish I could set file types like you can in the Windows client. Obb files are archives that Rar can open, but only if they're explicitly renamed. So, to edit obb archives, you have to rename them to .zip, make changes, and then rename them back to .obb. But this messes with the encoding and might mess up Android archives.

So, the file I was trying to open was a 7z file. When I tried opening it, it didn't prompt me for the password. Instead, it just gave me an error message saying it couldn't be extracted due to some unknown protocol issue. However, I managed to extract it successfully using RAR on my computer. It appears that the app isn't able to handle extracting files that are password-protected. It would be really helpful if this feature were added in the future.

So, like, when this app is trying to move files and it sees a file with the same name in the folder it's moving stuff to, it just stops. It would be great if instead of stopping, it could just tell me about the issue. I was getting all confused because it seemed stuck at a specific percentage, and then I figured out all it needed to do was rename stuff on its own. Wouldn’t it be cool if there was an option you could tick before you start moving things that makes it automatically come up with a new name for the file without asking you first?

So, this app is able to make files that need a password for access. But, it can't generate 7z files that have the feature to conceal zipped filenames when password-protected, which would be really useful if added. It lacks an easier way to save and access frequent locations, the user interface could definitely be enhanced in that regard. On the whole, though, it's a decent app with potential for improvements. And just to clarify, it doesn't have the ability to hide file names as previously mentioned.

So, I was using your app to rename a folder on my SD card, and then unexpectedly the folder got deleted instead of being renamed. It was quite surprising and a bit crazy that the app did that. Luckily, I work in IT so I know how to recover lost files, but it was still a hassle. Imagine if this happened to someone who doesn't know how to recover files! It could really mess up their data. Your app should make sure such mishaps don't occur to avoid causing issues for people who may not be as familiar with file recovery processes.
