1. How can I find out what is the primary email address associated with my ReceiptPal account?
The first email address you enter when you register with the ReceiptPal app is set as your primary email address. Please note that this could change if you add or update the email address that is registered to your account.
If you're not certain of which email address it is, you can follow these steps to find out:
- Open the ReceiptPal app
- Tap on the Account tab
- Tap on Manage Accounts
- The first email address listed is the primary email address associated with your ReceiptPal account
2. What types of e-receipts are not accepted?
The same rules for what is considered an invalid paper receipt also applies to e-receipts including:
1. Business or company related purchases. Receipts must be for items purchased for you and your family's personal use.
2. Bills such as cell phone, utilities, doctor, medical, car payments, mortgage, insurance, school tuition, legal services, etc.
3. Receipts with a $0 value.
4. Receipts for returns.
5. Receipts for participation in games of chance (e.g. lottery tickets, scratch-off tickets).
6. Account Balance Alerts, Money Orders, ATM Receipts, Account Transfers, Account Inquiries, Wire Transfers, Deposit/Withdrawal Statements, and Bank Draft/Checks.
7. Acorns, Stash Invest, TD Ameritrade and other investing services/apps.
8. Unpaid invoices.
9. Shipping confirmations and tracking updates.
10. Screenshots from a computer/mobile device.
11. If the phrase "This is not a receipt" appears anywhere.
12. Scans of a paper receipt, shipping label or packing slip.
13. Photo submissions of online order e-receipts that have been printed out.
3. How do I connect my email address so I can get credit for my e-receipts automatically?
Please note: At this time, the following email providers are eligible for connection to ReceiptPal: AOL, Gmail, Hotmail, Outlook.com and Yahoo!. You can connect up to three eligible email addresses for e-receipt auto collection.
To register and connect your eligible email address:
1. Download the app from the app store.
2. After opening the app, view the tutorial.
3. Tap on "Register".
4. Fill out the email address and profile information.
5. Make sure email connection is toggled on.
6. Tap on "Continue".
7. Enter the password associated with the email account that you want to connect to ReceiptPal.
8. Wait until you see a screen stating "You’re All Set!" or "Success". Tap "Okay" or "Done".
9. Once you see the screen, your email account is connected to your ReceiptPal account and valid e-receipts will be automatically credited to your ReceiptPal account.
To connect your eligible email address if you’ve already registered:
1. Tap on the Account tab in the bottom right corner of the screen.
2. Tap on Manage Accounts.
3. The email address you registered with should appear on the Manage Accounts screen. Underneath the email address it should read "Automatically scan for e-receipts". Tap the toggle to the right to turn the toggle on. Once it is on it will change to green.
4. Tap on "Continue".
5. Enter the password associated with the email account that you want to connect to ReceiptPal.
6. Wait until you see a screen stating "You’re All Set!" or "Success". Tap "Okay" or "Done".
7. Once you see the screen, your email account is connected to your ReceiptPal account and valid e-receipts will be automatically credited to your ReceiptPal account.
4. How do I redeem rewards?
Here are the steps:
1. Tap on Rewards on the main screen of the app.
2. Tap on the Reward you want to redeem.
3. Tap Redeem.
4. Either, tap:
Yes to confirm you want to redeem your points for that reward. Please be certain of this choice since you cannot return a reward code once you claim it; or
No if you decide not to redeem your points for that reward.
If you tap Yes, an email with the reward code will immediately be sent to the primary email address you used to register with ReceiptPal. Please check all your inbox folders for an email from ReceiptPal Team (noreply@receiptpalapp.com).
