Rocketbook - Scan & digitize notes

For all the writing enthusiasts out there who detest losing notes, this is a total game changer. I absolutely adore the 0.5mm pens, own the highlighters, and the drawing pens. I forward my notes to five different email addresses and two cloud storage platforms, allowing me to retrieve them anytime. The only drawback is I definitely don't want to accidentally microwave my notebook when it's full! The app's interface is phenomenal, incredibly user-friendly, and I'm gradually exploring more of its features. It's just amazing.

I'm thrilled about this app! It's helping me study like never before! I have a simple request. I want to experiment more, so I checked out Cloud Cards and uploaded a few successfully, with the front and back matching perfectly. When I went into Study Mode, though, there was a small problem. The cards displayed the back first, and then I had to flip to see the front. Perhaps it could show the front first or include a switch to toggle between them? Thank you!

On August 3rd, the synchronization issue was fixed. However, I still wish to be able to bring in scans from my previous device or cloud. I find it inconvenient that there is no way to import scans into the app when changing to a new device. I understand that it operates using the cloud, which I appreciate when using my laptop. Yet, the process is cumbersome when done via phone as it requires logging into another app, searching for folders, and so on. It would be more convenient if the scans were readily available within the Rocket app with just two clicks.

I started using a Core notebook with homemade beacons in late 2020. It's great because I haven't used paper notebooks for over three years now. I enjoy the convenience of being able to search for keywords easily after I transfer my notes to OneNote or a similar platform. The only downside is that the OCR has declined in quality over time. Occasionally, it skips lines of text or jumbles up the order. I have to carefully read through my notes to ensure everything transferred accurately.

The photos are sharp, but frixion highlighters make it smudgy. Lighter pens can be difficult to grab. However, I adore the Rocketbook and the app. There's always room for tech upgrades. To reduce pen waste, I should find a refillable pen with frixion ink. I'm yet to explore this option. Also, I wish for an app on my computer to view all my scans easily.

You know, I've had these books for so long and I really like the concept. However, I was expecting some improvements by now. Everything seems kind of stagnant and outdated. It would be great to have a dark mode, improved features for saving locally and as PDFs, the ability to protect PDFs and the entire app with passwords or fingerprint, local backup options, the ability to view and edit OCR data within the app, folders in the history section, and it would be amazing to have support for MEGA cloud services. Come on RB, let's bring back that awesome factor!

So, let's talk about the app itself, not the books. I must say, the scanning feature works really well, even better than the other programs I've tried before. It's precise and only captures the marked area on the paper or book. This app is definitely the best scanning app I have come across. The only downside is that you do need to use a Rocketbook approved page. However, the good news is that they offer free templates! So, if you don't want to buy the books, just download some of these templates and you're good to go!

Isn't it just so easy to use! I'm a big fan because I can jot down notes for all my classes without needing to carry around multiple notebooks and keep track of which ones to bring each day. It keeps everything organized effortlessly, no need for me to worry about sorting through the book itself! And there's no more concern about purchasing new notebooks or misplacing important notes, which is such a relief! The only thing I wish for as a Fine Arts Major is a feature that scans my coloring choices accurately and transforms them into the solid colors I intended, without being too sensitive or altering the contrast and saturation too much. Apart from that tiny wish, this tool is simply awesome and flawless! It would be neat to have a few more icon options and destinations to send things to, but that's a minor detail considering the array of choices already available. I wholeheartedly recommend this for students and anyone similar to me!
