General rules of games and competitions

These regulations set out the general rules applicable to any competition linked to a service published by RTL Belgium SA (hereinafter “RTL”), whose head office is located at Avenue Jacques Georgin, 2, 1030 Brussels:

The specific conditions of a competition, if any, will be published and will appear above the general rules. In the event of a contradiction, they will prevail over the provisions of the latter.

1. Participation criteria

Competitions are open to any adult residing in Belgium at the time of the competition. In the specific case where minors are invited to participate in competitions, they do so under the supervision of an adult, but never for gambling.

2. Description of the terms of participation and selection of winners

Generally speaking, the most common selection methods are:

In the event of participation by SMS or via a simple online participation form, the participant indicates their participation in the competition by sending an SMS or a simple online form. The winner is selected from the SMS or forms received, according to a predetermined algorithm. Depending on the specifics of the game, the algorithm may determine one or more winners at the end of the game, determine a certain number of winners per day or automatically determine a winner at regular intervals based on the number of SMS received (for example, one winner for every 100 SMS received).

In the event of participation by application text message: the participant indicates their wish to participate in the competition by sending an application text message. One or more candidates are selected from the text messages received, according to a predetermined algorithm and/or based on the motivations expressed at the request in the message, the media being the sole judge in this matter. This (these) candidate(s) then respond to one or more questions asked as part of the operation, the winner(s) are then determined based on the answers given and the specific mechanics of the competition (a single final gift or one possible gift per candidate, etc.). A tie-breaker question may be asked to break any ties.

In the event of participation via the online participation form with answers to one or more questions: the participant who wishes to participate in the competition is invited to answer a questionnaire of x questions, the best score determining the winner. A tie-breaker question may break any ties.

In the case of participation via an online application form: the participant indicates their wish to participate in the competition by sending an online application form. One or more candidates are selected from the forms received, based on the motivations expressed by the candidate (originality of the message, the situation, etc.), the media being the sole judge in this matter.

In absolute terms, and regardless of the required method of participation and selection, the media reserves the right to make an additional selection among the participants based on their motivation and immediate availability depending on the specificities of the competition. Thus, it reserves the right to verify the suitability of the candidates to a series of conditions (availability for the win, particular profile, etc.).

Finally, after identification of the winner thus determined, the latter may still be ousted on the basis of the criterion of duration between two winning participations imposed by the media. (see point 7. Specific limits)

3. Dates and duration of the competition

The dates of the competition will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

4. Gifts (endowment)

For each promotion, the prizes to be won are clearly presented. These prizes are personal, non-transferable, and cannot be exchanged for another prize or cash. It is understood that, by default, all holiday offers are offered outside of school holidays and subject to the partner's availability.

5. Terms of notification of the winner and withdrawal of the prize/gift

Competition participants acknowledge that they may be disqualified if RTL teams are unable to contact them by any means of communication, including if there is no response to the first call. Participants are responsible for ensuring that they remain contactable using the contact details provided during registration.

In the event of participation via the Internet, participants in the competitions also acknowledge that they may be disqualified if they do not respond to an email from the responsible teams within 24 hours.

The winners will receive their prize by Taxipost or courier or by any other method designated for each particular game. When the delivery service cannot deliver the prize, it will leave a delivery notice with its contact details so that the winner can contact it directly to arrange a new delivery. If the winner does not respond to this notice within the time limit following the first delivery date, the prize(s) won will revert to the property of RTL Belgium SA.

Once delivered, the winnings or prizes are the sole responsibility of the winner. Any loss or return, as well as the associated costs, will not be covered by RTL Belgium SA.

RTL BELGIUM SA also reserves the right to deliver the prize(s) to the winners in person.

6. Identification of the winner

The winner agrees to participate in various promotional operations, including interviews, photo shoots and quotations of his or her name to be published in particular in the written and audiovisual press and on the Internet.

7. Special Limits

The competitions organized by RTL are only available in French.

RTL staff, audiotext or Internet operators and advertisers and their possible subcontractors for the competition and their advertising and communication agencies, may not participate in RTL competitions, whether personally or through members of their family or cohabitants residing under their roof.

The participation of any minor will be subject to the prior written consent of a parent or person in charge of them.

In the event that the company offering the prize ceases to operate before delivery, RTL Belgium SA reserves the right to cancel the competition or modify the prize. In such a case, RTL Belgium SA is released from all liability towards either the participants or the winner.

When the competition relates to an event (fair, show, concert, etc.) for which the gift consists of one or more accesses to it, in the event of a decision by the event organizers or authorities to cancel it for any reason whatsoever before or on the day of the event, RTL Belgium SA will be released from any liability either towards the participants or towards the winner(s). Accesses won for a canceled event cannot be compensated by any means.

Any prize actually won automatically makes it impossible to win another prize in another competition organized by RTL, for a period of2 months minimum.

Any participation deemed to give rise to suspicion of fraud will also be considered invalid. In particular, the following may give rise to suspicion of fraud: any manipulation of computer data relating to the competition and the presence of winnings among similar postal addresses.

In these latter cases, RTL Belgium SA reserves the right to disqualify the person(s) suspected of fraud and/or to cancel the competition, without prejudice to the liability of the fraudster(s).

RTL reserves the right to subcontract the organization of competitions to a third-party company which undertakes to apply these rules and will be responsible for monitoring any dispute or claim in the name and on behalf of RTL Belgium SA.
