Salesforce Authenticator provides enhanced security for your online accounts by utilizing multi-factor authentication (MFA), or two-factor authentication. By using Salesforce Authenticator, you can authenticate and verify your identity using your mobile device when logging in to your account or performing important actions. The application sends a push notification to your device, allowing you to approve or deny the activity with a simple tap. For added convenience, Salesforce Authenticator can leverage your mobile device's location services to automatically approve trusted account activities. Additionally, the app generates one-time verification codes for offline use or situations with low connectivity.

You can utilize Salesforce Authenticator to bolster the security of all your online accounts that support time-based one-time passwords (TOTP). Any service that permits multi-factor authentication through an "Authenticator app" is compatible with Salesforce Authenticator.

Location Data & Privacy

When enabling location-based automation in Salesforce Authenticator, the app securely stores location data on your mobile device rather than in the cloud. You have the ability to delete all location data from your device or disable location services at any time. Further details regarding the app's utilization of location data can be found in Salesforce Help.

Battery Usage

Instead of continuous precise location updates, Salesforce Authenticator only receives updates when entering or leaving the general vicinity, or "geofence," of a location that you designate as trusted. By reducing the frequency of location updates, Salesforce Authenticator helps conserve your mobile device's battery life. To further diminish battery consumption, you can deactivate location services and discontinue automated activity.

It works really well. The export feature is quite handy for recovering data from a lost phone.

This app we're using is so frustrating and not needed at all. Just one out of our 7 team members can log in to our department's account because the system for automatic approvals is broken. And as if that isn't bad enough, now that the automatic feature is turned on, that one person can't even get into the account! The notifications aren't showing up, and the codes being generated are useless because they're "invalid and expired".

Oh, man! This app is driving me up the wall. Can you believe it? I mean, seriously, it's asking for like 19 and a half different things just to confirm it's really me. I have to type in both my phone number AND email, and sometimes there's even a darn timer ticking away before I can enter the code. Why can't it just let me sign up with a simple email and password, and get on with it? Argh!

This app is terrible! I enjoy having 3 SF pages running. Some days, I simply need to approve once to get my 3 pages up. However, on other days like today, I have to approve not just 3 times but 5 to 7 times. This happens because I keep getting logged out of the last page I opened. It's incredibly frustrating! Please fix this issue!

Hey, it looks like the app is doing a great job! Sometimes, there can be a bit of trouble with SFCC not logging in successfully on the first try. But that's not really an issue with the app itself - more like a glitch with the SFCC Business Manager site.

The app is super slow to open, even on my new phone, and it's so frustrating when the login times out. Plus, I don't get why it can't remember to auto-login based on location. With all their money, they should definitely improve these things.

My app has been a bit sluggish lately, taking its time to load and not always opening smoothly. Sometimes it's great, recognizing my location and automatically logging me in. But recently, it's been making me enter the code manually instead of generating it for me. Google authentication is so seamless, I wish you had that feature too.

The app is so bad, and it's like, why even bother with it? Like, why do we need an app for MFA when a simple text or email code would do the job just fine, right? So frustrating. And get this - the app wants to know my location! Like, seriously? I don't want my employer knowing where I am all the time. And if you say no to location access, you have to go through, like, five extra steps just to log in. Plus, my employer doesn't even pay for my phone, so why should I be forced to install this dumb app just to do my job? It's all a big mess, for real.

I love this tool! It's great for managing my heavy workload. The interface is so simple to use, and the steps are logical. The confirmations I receive are just perfect. This authentication tool is successful and reliable.

I used this app but it's just not reliable. Sometimes it doesn't work at all. You have to wait for this long timer and then try again, hoping it will finally work. The only way to log in is through notifications - can't do it directly in the app. And there's no option to turn off that two-step verification which is really frustrating. I hope my company switches to a different service soon so I don't waste any more time dealing with this one.
