How do I set a Stop Alert to wake me at my stop?

Visit the live bus arrivals screen for your chosen destination stop. From here, tap the button on the screen that looks like a picture of an alarm clock. On Android, you may need to press the 'Menu' button first.

You will now receive an alert when you are near to the chosen bus stop. You don't need to keep the app open, or the iPhone switched on, you can lock your screen and still get alerted.

To cancel the alert, look for the blue illuminated Alarm Clock icon on the main screen.

I paid to remove ads, but changed/wiped my phone, how do I remove the ads again?

If you have previously paid to remove the ads, you can restore this purchase again without paying twice.

    iOS Users

To restore your purchase, first ensure that you are logged into the App Store using the same Apple ID that you used when removing the ads. You can do this from your Home Screen, by tapping on Settings, then tapping on 'iTunes & App Store' and inspecting the Apple ID. Once you're happy with this, simply follow these steps:

- Open our app on your device.

- Tap the 'menu' icon in the top left of the map screen.

- Tap 'settings' to bring up the settings menu.

- Scroll down to find the button that says 'Restore Purchases'.

- Tap that button.

This should restore your purchase and remove the ads once again.

    Android Users

To restore your purchase, simply:

- Ensure that you are logged into the Google Play Store with exactly the same email address as the one you used when you made your in-app-purchase to remove the ads.

- Completely quit out of the app - reboot your phone if you don't know how to do this.

- Restart the app.

This should restore your purchase and remove the ads once again.

The widget: How do I get arrival times in my notification center / today screen?

To do this, you need to add the BusChecker widget to your home screen or Today screen. Follow these steps:

    Bus Checker for Android

- Find a page on your home screen that space available for the widget. The widget measures 4 icons across and 2 icons down.

- Tap your finger in the space, and hold it down.

- A menu will appear - choose 'Add -> Widget(s)'.

- Scroll down until you see the word 'Bus Checker', then choose this option.

- The widget will be added to your home screen.

    Bus Checker for iOS

At the moment, the Bus Checker widget will only appear in the screen that lives at the very left of your home screens.

- Go to the iOS home screen

- Keep swiping until you have moved to the very left of all your home screens to the Notification Center.

- Scroll down to the bottom of the view and click the 'Edit' button.

- A list of widgets will appear - tap the '+' button to add our app's widget to the list.

- Tap 'Done' at the top of the screen to save your changes.

- That's it! You will now get live bus times in your Today screen.

FAQ

What happened to the draggable photos of transit stops? (Street View)

Unfortunately, we have had to disable the Street View functionality in the app at the present time.  This is due to a pricing increase made by our supplier - this was previously a free product but now incurs considerable cost.  

We are actively investigating obtaining this information from an alternate supplier in the future; please look out for regular updates to the app.

Where does the countdown information come from? Is it live?

This app retrieves its data directly from Transport for London's public-facing Countdown service. And yes, it's completely live; in fact, it's the same real-time countdown information that you would see at the actual bus stops.

Although, if a bus stop doesn't have a countdown board, you can use our app instead!

Where does the live vehicle information come from? Is it live?

The app retrieves its data directly from various official sources such as Traveline and Transport for London's live data feeds.

In London, all of the data is live. It is the same real-time countdown information that you can see at the actual bus stops. (although if a bus stop doesn't have a countdown board, you can use our app instead!)

Outside of London, the app retrieves live data where it is available, which is in many towns and cities. If no live data is available, the app use up-to-date bus timetable information instead.
