The newly launched SAPO Desporto App presents an enhanced version featuring a fresh design and improved user experience, coinciding with significant sporting events this year, including the European Football Championship and the Summer Olympics. This app is designed to be more intuitive and covers a wide range of sports topics. Users will have access to detailed information about major football competitions, including daily match schedules, real-time game updates, standings, and schedules for both national and international leagues, along with current news on various sports and inspiring stories of athletes.
The revamped quick access menu enables users to easily navigate the main sections of the application, allowing for simple and convenient content retrieval. Beyond football, the app provides a dedicated section for the latest news from other sports such as futsal, motorsport, hockey, handball, basketball, athletics, tennis, and cycling, with options to filter news by sport. The Off-Game section is particularly highlighted, showcasing the lives of sports stars away from the competitive arena.
With SAPO Desporto, users can expect:
- Up-to-date sports news from leading national leagues (such as the 1st League and Taça de Portugal) and international tournaments (including UEFA Champions League);
- Comprehensive calendars detailing television broadcast channels, rankings, team and player stats;
- Live match coverage with minute-by-minute commentary, featuring video highlights of key moments;
- A video collection of goals and significant plays categorized by team and matchday;

Recommendations for dealing with SPAM
Anti-Spam Platform
The SAPO Mail anti-spam platform protects users' accounts from unwanted emails.
The configured filters prevent SPAM from reaching the inbox of each email account. These filters work automatically, based on threat detection systems and block lists, without the need for user intervention.
Given the proliferation of new methods of sending spam and new spammers, it is important to refine the filters, to which our users contribute greatly by reporting spam using the specific options for this purpose in SAPO Mail.
Reporting messages as SPAM
We appreciate your collaboration and would like to draw your attention to the importance of always reporting the receipt of unsolicited emails or SPAM, using the button reserved for this purpose in the top menu.
Messages reported as such will go directly to the SPAM folder, where they will remain stored for 30 days, for subsequent deletion after this period.
Deleting messages marked as SPAM
Messages marked as SPAM are automatically deleted after 30 days. However, if you want to delete the messages before this period ends, simply access the SPAM folder, select the messages and click on the “Delete” button or the “Trash” icon.
When a message is wrongly marked as SPAM
If you have reported a message as SPAM by mistake, you can undo this operation by going to the SPAM folder and doing one of the following:
- Select the message and drag it to the Inbox;
- Click on the “Not SPAM” button, which will automatically return the message to the inbox.
If you use the second option, the sender’s address of the message is added to the whitelist, which means that all emails you receive from that address will be considered safe and delivered directly to your inbox, without going through the anti-spam filters.
Please note that, for security reasons, messages from forged senders or from servers that are on block lists will continue to be sent to the Spam folder or blocked, even if the sender is on your whitelist.
What is the whitelist?
The whitelist is a list of addresses that the user has considered safe. Whenever a message is reported as not being SPAM, the sender's address is automatically included in the whitelist.
You can check and remove addresses from your whitelist by accessing the Mail Settings and clicking on “Anti-Spam”. Click on the “Save” button at the bottom of the page to save the changes.
About Phishing
SPAM has many faces and comes in many forms, the most damaging and dangerous form for the user being called 'spoofing' or 'phishing'. This fraudulent practice consists of sending messages that appear to come from a legitimate source, or from a web page that is very similar to the official entity they are trying to replicate.
This type of message is intended to collect your username and password or other relevant personal information, such as your bank account number, credit card number, passwords and date of birth or your parents' names, with a view to usurping your SAPO Mail account or any other service subscribed to on the web, or even your bank credit and identity.
We would like to warn you to be careful when handling messages that request personal information, or that include hyperlinks in the body of the text that direct you to pages where you are asked to confirm any user data. If you receive a message in this format, even if it appears to come from SAPO or SAPO Mail, do not, under any circumstances, provide the requested information.
How to protect yourself from this type of computer fraud (Phishing)
Make sure that the URL domain of the page provided is correct, that is, that it corresponds to the official address of the entity mentioned in the message. Click on any image or link to ensure that you are directed to the correct pages within that same website.
Whenever you consider entering any personal information, including your password, look for the icon that corresponds to secure sites, the usual closed padlock in the status bar, which you can find at the bottom of your browser window.
Check the message headers carefully. The “From:” field is easily manipulated to display a false sender name, so it is not a good reference for checking whether the message comes from a secure source.
If, even after taking these measures, you are unable to verify with certainty the origin of the messages, contact the organization that apparently sent the message. Do not use the reply email in the message, as it may be forged. Instead, visit the official website of the company in question and look for a different contact address.
