The application aids in aligning your satellite dish by providing details on the horizontal and vertical directions required based on your location and selected satellite.
Step-by-Step Alignment Process
1. Choose Installation Location
Select a site with an unobstructed view of the sky to ensure a clear line to the satellite.
2. Assemble and Mount the Dish
Follow the manufacturer’s instructions to assemble the dish and securely mount it to a stable surface. Ensure it is level for accurate adjustments.
3. Set Elevation and Azimuth Angles
Use the elevation scale on the mount to set the initial elevation angle based on your location. Determine the azimuth angle using a compass, pointing the dish in the general direction of the satellite.
4. Connect the Satellite Finder
Connect the satellite finder between the LNB and your satellite receiver using coaxial cables.
5. Initial Adjustments
Loosen the bolts slightly to allow movement of the dish. Begin by adjusting the azimuth (left-right) and then the elevation (up-down).
6. Fine-Tuning with Signal Measurement
Slowly move the dish while observing the signal strength on your satellite finder: Move left-right until you hear beeping or see signal strength increase. If no improvement, adjust vertically (elevation) until maximum signal strength is achieved.
7. Secure Dish Position
Once optimal signal strength is found, tighten all bolts to lock the dish in place, ensuring there is no wobble.
8. Final Signal Quality Check
Use your receiver to check signal quality; aim for both high strength and quality readings. Adjust if necessary.
9. Run Channel Scan
Perform a channel scan on your receiver to confirm access to satellite channels.
