Getting Started

Upon first starting the game, a small tutorial starts.

The objective of the game is to progress as far as possible by merging like Barrels by swiping or dragging on on top of the other. Barrels will passively generate Scrap for the player to use. Scrap can then be used to purchase upgrades to progress quicker and farther in the game.

Progressing through the game, the player will unlock new currencies to use on new upgrades, the ability to reset (prestige), purchase Stars, join teams, and various other features.

Progression

After earning enough Scrap through sufficient Merging and efficiently purchasing upgrades (especially Better Barrels), the player will start to earn Golden Scrap (GS). With GS, the player can then purchase Stars to further increase Scrap production as a form of "prestige." In order to aid in progression, players may choose to start using Ad Events for automatic merging, faster Barrels, or other boosts.

Before reaching 10 Stars, the player will unlock the first Scrapyard and Teams 3.0, two important features that will help the player along for the rest of their game. Serious and active players should find an active team that merges over 1,000,000 Barrels in a week so that they may benefit most from Team Leagues (and eventually Team Challenges at x30 Stars). At the same time, Global Challenges get unlocked.

After reaching 10 Stars, Stars are upgraded instead of purchased and the game starts opening up with new features becoming available to the player frequently. Eventually, the player will begin unlocking various currencies, additional Scrapyards, the Skill Tree, and many more features.

After maxing out all upgrades with a level limit and purchasing the entire skill tree, some may consider the game complete. However, many players don't stop there and continue upgrading their Stars, finding the game competitive using the in-game leaderboards, looking to lead the ranks, or achieve as many merges for each Team League or as many merges as they can for a "Faster Barrels" ad event.

Updates come every few weeks and continue to add more end-game content for those who love the game and want more. For those looking to play the game better, quicker, or more efficiently, there is a page dedicated to listing and exploring such strategies.

Major Features

Merging

Players can merge like barrels in order to produce a barrel that yields 3x as much Scrap. Other benefits include leveling up (the best way to earn Magnets (especially at 100+ Stars)) and completing team challenges.

The first Star

Stars

Stars are a resource which multiplies the player's Scrap production. Initially, each Star multiplies production by 10, but after the player has amassed 10 Stars, they will instead be able to increment each individual Star's multiplier at the cost of Golden Scrap, Magnets, and Star Fragments.

Scrapyards

The Scrapyards act as a resource dump in which the player can level up in order to increase the production of another currency or reduce the cost of upgrades. Scrapyards first become available at 4 Stars. The second Scrapyard is unlocked after upgrading 3 Star Pieces at 10 stars.

Ad Events

Ad Events allow the player to get bonuses earned by watching an ad. An ad can be watched when a crown appears beside the player's Magnet count. Tapping the crown will open a window displaying the bonus and giving the player the chance to accept or decline.

Teams

Teams are available to create friendly communities of players within the game and encourage teamwork and progress by rewarding teams for working together to accomplish tasks or challenges.

The beginning of the skill tree

Tree Upgrades

Tree upgrades are first unlocked at x40 Stars and additional upgrades are unlocked every x5 Stars. Tree upgrades range from unlocking currencies to speeding up production or adding new mechanics such as the Mega Magnet.

Mastery token

Barrel Mastery

The Barrel Mastery is unlocked at x400 Stars and gives Mastery Tokens for merges, which can be spent on several powerful upgrades. Doing the mastery changes the gameplay a lot.

The Settings page

Settings

The Settings menu allows the player import and export saves, use cloud saving, view the leaderboards, switch between abstract and normal number representation, and view the game's Discord server and Reddit.
