3 Ways to Fix Screen Mirroring Not Working on Android

Basic Fixes

- Check network connection: Screen mirroring requires a robust Wi-Fi connection. You need to connect to a fast Wi-Fi network. If your phone and smart TV supports dual-band Wi-Fi, opt for a 5GHz Wi-Fi frequency band.

- Restart devices: Restart both devices to fix temporary bugs and glitches.

- Ensure you’re connected to the same Wi-Fi: You need to connect your Android phone and smart TV/monitor to the same Wi-Fi network.

- Check compatibility: Check your user manual, and ensure that your device is compatible with the smart TV.

- Disable battery saver: Disable battery saver settings on your Android device. It may restrict the screen-casting feature.

Fix 1: Enable Screen Mirroring on Phone

You need to enable screen mirroring on your Android phone to check nearby devices to cast the display. The wording may differ from one Android phone maker to another.

For example, Google calls it Screen Cast, while Samsung has added the same as ‘Smart View’ on Galaxy smartphones and tablets.

Step 1: Swipe down from the home screen to access the quick toggles menu.

Step 2: Swipe through toggles and tap Screen Cast. Check if your smart TV is showing on the following menu.

If you can’t find Screen Casting in the quick toggles menu, use the Settings menu.

Open Settings > Connected devices > Connection preferences > Cast and select the device.

Fix 2: Use Casting Options from Media Apps

If screen mirroring is still not working, use the casting function from Google Photos and YouTube. Let’s take the former as an example.

Step 1: Open any photo or video and look for the casting icon at the top.

Step 2: Select your nearby device and check the same on the convenience of a big screen.

Fix 3: Open Display Mirroring on a Smart TV

While Android TV has a casting option enabled by default, on Amazon Fire TV Stick, you must turn on the function from Fire OS Settings.

Step 1: Slide right to Settings on your Fire TV home screen.

Step 2: Open Display & Audio.

Step 3: Select Enable Display Mirroring.

Open Screen Casting or Smart View on your Android (check the first step), and screen mirroring should work as expected.

Updating my review, this is just terrible. I tried reaching out via email but got no reply. Then, when I finally hear back, the instructions given are useless as the option mentioned doesn't even exist on the app. Don't bother with this app, it's definitely a scam! Provide me with the correct method to cancel my subscription immediately. The steps sent for Android aren't effective. Refund me now as you failed to offer a valid cancellation process!

I want to cancel the payment for the free trial. Actually, I don't even want the free trial. It ended during the show. The idea is good but it's very slow. I attempted to email to cancel the service, but there's no place to send the email.

An app that I really like has everything I need for screen mirroring and casting to my TV. It even has some extra features which are cool. The only problem I had was with screen mirroring, but it's not a big deal since I don't use it much. I love being able to stream any video to my TV easily.

I wanna cancel, but I can't get in touch. They said I could choose to cancel, but now I can't reach them.

I think this screen mirroring and TV cast app is the best choice. It's high quality, affordable, and I can easily navigate through different media using just my TV remote. Chromecast is definitely better than Roku, Apple TV, and Fire TV Stick!

The app really let me down. It charged me out of nowhere before I even got to use it. It kept showing a loading symbol, claiming there was no connection, despite being on Wi-Fi. I felt so let down that I requested a refund. However, it was impossible to find how to do so. I followed the advice to uninstall it, but that didn't solve the issue. This app is awful. Watch out! It’s just so disappointing.

The app is far too basic and lacks customization options. There are no settings or detailed device information available. Modifying input/output sources isn't possible either. Paying $23.00 to $29.00 for limited casting control seems unreasonable. It would make more sense if the app were free, given its simple functionality on TVs and laptops.

This app is awful. Trying to cancel my subscription but can't get ahold of anyone. Complete waste of money, wouldn't suggest it to anyone.

I looked for apps on the Play Store that work like Chromecast to use with my Android device, and I came across this one. It's a really handy app for mirroring your screen.
