Manage Incarcerated Connection Services with Securus Video Visit

Securus Video Visit is a free Android application that allows users to easily manage their incarcerated connection services. Users can create a Securus Online account, change their password and 4 digit PIN, and set up security questions for easy password reset. The app offers a Video Connect feature, which allows users to schedule a video session with an incarcerated individual remotely from anywhere in the world with Wi-Fi or cellular data service. Users can enroll in Video Connect subscriptions, access and view their upcoming scheduled video sessions, and sync details of upcoming video sessions with their calendar. The app also offers prepaid calling account management for AdvanceConnect, where users can enroll and add funds to their account, select a call subscription package, view available funds, and more. Additionally, the app offers a messaging service called eMessaging, where users can send and receive messages, send and receive eCards, attach photos, and send a 30-second VideoGram. Feature availability varies by facility.

AdvanceConnect – fund this account to receive calls to selected phone numbers from your contacts. You can:

- Enroll and add funds to AdvanceConnect account for readiness for calls

- View available funds

- Add or change phone numbers eligible to receive calls

- View call details and transaction summary

- View the last call attempt to a number

- Block or unblock calls

- Enroll in AutoPay or TextPay

- Update or change credit/debit card information

Securus Debit – deposit funds to this account for your assigned contact to use for:

- Making calls to any number

- Purchasing music, games, and movies for their tablet

- Scheduling and paying for a Video Connect session

- Buying stamps to send eMessages and eCards

- You buy a package of ‘Connects’ at the incarcerated’s facility to begin sending text messages from the app

- Inmates can reply using your Connects with incoming text notifications to you

- An automatic re-purchase feature called Recharge keeps your package topped up when balance is low

- Connects are facility-specific for texting inmates only at that location

- Digital greeting cards or ‘eCards’ can be sent with text messages

- Set up low balance alerts via email for continuous text messaging funds

    The app is user-friendly and has been working quite well for me up to this point. One major issue I have with this app is that the keyboard in the text messages section does not have autocorrect, making messaging a frustrating experience. I would be more eager to use this app if that feature was included. Every time I try to send a message to my loved one within the app, I feel discouraged due to the constant need for spell checking.

    So, when I'm typing on my keyboard and it gets hidden, I resort to hitting the enter button or the one for starting new paragraphs. This helps me move the cursor back up to complete my message. But recently, for the past two days, it keeps showing that I have 11 unread messages even though I have already read all the messages in my inbox. This issue is preventing me from receiving messages from my husband and causes arguments due to the glitch in the app. So, could you please fix this problem for me?

    I'm glad that I can communicate with my husband through this service. Sometimes there are issues with the app, but when that happens, I call the number provided and add money through text messages, which solves the problem. I've spent nearly $3,000 on phone calls this year just to talk to him. I wish Securus would offer an unlimited phone call option for a monthly fee or a yearly plan for inmates serving longer sentences. Thank you.

    When you send an email, the subject line and message body act as password fields, restricting keyboard functions. This means no voice-to-text, predictive typing, glide typing, or clipboard options. A fix is needed to modify the text field type for "Subject" and "Message body." Such issues might end up on Reddit's "r/softwaregore."

    This app is really frustrating. I wanted to message my friend, but when I tried to send the message, it said my session expired. So I logged back in, but the message was gone. I had to rewrite it all over again. This has happened twice now! It's not convenient at all. On the JPay app, at least it would save drafts if you had to stop suddenly. You could then continue where you left off when you logged back in. But this app doesn't even let you save a draft. It's really disappointing.

    I feel really upset. I used JPay's app since May, but they made me switch to Securus. The new app seems a bit better. However, right now I can't get into my account using my email and password, which I've been using for a while. When I try to log in, it says "invalid email or password" even though I'm sure it's correct. Resetting the password gives the same message. I don't have any other options. I've been on the phone for 1 hour and 5 minutes.
