Seep, also commonly referred to as Sweep, Shiv, or Siv, is a traditional Indian card game that can be played by 2 or 4 players. Seep is widely popular in countries like India, Pakistan, and several other Asian nations.
In the 4-player mode, Seep is played with fixed partnerships of two, where partners sit opposite each other. The objective of the game is to accumulate cards with point values from the table layout, known as the floor. A game of Seep concludes once one team has gained a lead of at least 100 points over the opposing team, which is referred to as a baazi. Players have the option to pre-determine the number of games (baazis) they wish to play.
Seep, also known as Sweep, Shiv, or Siv, is a popular digital card game developed by Octro, captivating players across India, Pakistan, and other Asian regions. Here are the key points about the game:
## Game Overview
- **Player Modes**: Available for 2 or 4 players.
- **Partnerships**: In the 4-player mode, players form fixed partnerships with teammates sitting opposite each other.
## Objective
- **Card Capture**: Players aim to capture cards from the table layout, each with specific point values.
- **Winning Condition**: The game concludes when one team achieves a lead of at least 100 points over the opposing team, referred to as a "baazi." Players can set the number of baazis before starting.
## Scoring System
- **Scoring Cards**: Only 17 cards contribute to scoring:
- Spade suit cards score according to their face value (Ace = 1, King = 13).
- Aces from other suits are worth 1 point each.
- The ten of diamonds is valued at 6 points.
- **Seep Bonus**: Capturing all cards on the table in one turn (a "seep") can earn significant points—50 points normally, but only 25 if done on the first play.
## Cultural Context
- **Similar Games**: While it shares similarities with Italian games like Scopone or Scopa, Seep maintains its unique charm rooted in Indian culture.
## Accessibility
- **Platforms**: Seep by Octro is available on iPhone and Android devices, allowing enthusiasts to play anytime and anywhere.
This engaging card game combines strategy and cultural heritage, making it a favorite among card game lovers.
During scoring at the end of a Seep round, the following point values are assigned to the captured cards:
- Cards from the Spade suit carry point values equal to their respective face values (ranging from 1 for the ace to 13 for the king)
- Aces from the other three suits are valued at 1 point each
- The ten of diamonds holds a value of 6 points
Only these designated 17 cards hold scoring value, while all other captured cards are considered worthless. The total scoring value of all cards in the pack equals 100 points.
Players may also score for a seep, which happens when a player captures all cards from the layout, emptying the table. A regular seep is worth 50 points, but achieving a seep on the first play awards only 25 points, while a seep made on the last play does not yield any points.
Seep bears resemblance to the Italian card game Scopone or Scopa.
Moreover, the game can be enjoyed on iPhone as well.
