*A common wire (c-wire) is generally not needed for most setups. It is incompatible with baseboard heating and certain other types of systems. A common wire (c-wire) is mandatory for systems that provide either heating or cooling only, as well as for heat pump configurations.

**Humidification requires extra equipment, and professional installation is advisable. Dehumidification is achievable with air conditioning and heat pump setups.

Troubleshoot Sensi thermostat Wi-Fi connectivity

Important Note: Your Sensi thermostat will control your heating and cooling system even if the Wi-Fi connection has been lost. You can still make temperature/system mode changes from the thermostat on the wall. If you are running a schedule when connection is lost, your Sensi thermostat will continue to run the schedule. However, additional features such as modifying advanced settings, switching between schedules, and automatic software updates will not be available until the Wi-Fi connection is restored.

New router or router settings changed

If you need to reconnect your thermostat because you’ve changed your router or updated your router settings, please see this article on how to reconnect your thermostat to Wi-Fi.

The Sensi thermostat and app bring such joy. Using it feels effortless. I can check the status of my home even when I'm 30 miles away at work. If needed, I can tweak the temperature, although the thermostat holds steady at the set point. This is our second replacement. We upgraded from an antique model from the 1990s to a digital one that ran non-stop. Finally, we found Sensi, and it's been perfect! We highly recommend this thermostat.

Saved programs can be tricky to navigate. Choosing to run a different program deletes the ones you had saved. The integration with Google feels off sometimes. On the bright side, adjusting the A/C from bed is super convenient. It connects seamlessly with my Lennox wiring when other options failed, even the overpriced $1500 model. The Sensei worked right away and just needed a bit of fine-tuning by a skilled technician.

The wifi thermostat covers the basics well. However, the humidity reading falls short. I compared it with two other hygrometers. It reads about 6 or 7 degrees too low on average. I bought this to keep an eye on humidity in my Florida home during the summer. The lack of custom alert settings is frustrating. The app includes a humidity alert feature, but it triggers at 70 degrees. That level is too high to stop mold from developing.

The app has potential, but it disconnects from the internet frequently. Fingerprint and password protection vanished without explanation. No way to restore those features. They simply disappeared from the app. Authy isn't usable either. Only password protection remains, and you can't hide your username or password while typing. The recent updates seem to have broken everything. Something feels very off with the app now.

The app keeps saying the thermostat is offline. It’s frustrating because the thermostat sits less than ten feet from the router. The issue pops up randomly. Some days, it connects back on its own. Other times, I reset it, and it works for a day or two before dropping again. For about a year, everything ran smoothly. Now, it’s a hassle. I think the app might be the culprit. Regardless, I'm over it and ready to switch to another thermostat. Life’s too short for this nonsense.

This smart thermostat offers fantastic value for the price. It integrates with Alexa, but works even better with Smart Things. I set up a scene in Smart Things that adjusts the heating and cooling temperatures based on my needs. When I head out, it switches to away mode and sets a wide temperature range. Once I'm home, it narrows down to a 4-degree range for comfort. The app allows me to lock the screen remotely, but a code option for locking settings would be great. The filter usage monitor is impressive, and tracking monthly usage adds a nice touch.

Love how simple the app is to navigate. Switching between summer and winter schedules feels seamless. The daily and monthly breakdown of usage is fantastic. Color coding makes it easy to see when heating or AC is in use. Adjustments become effortless with that feature. The temperature control unit impresses too. The screen is a nice size, and lights up with just a gentle tap. Big, clear numbers make reading the temperature a breeze. Such a user-friendly experience overall!

I absolutely love my Sensi Thermostat and the app! I used to have a Google Nest, but when we moved, the Sensi was already set up. Switching over was a breeze. The setup process felt effortless. The app is super intuitive; everything makes sense right away. I enjoyed my Google Nest, but honestly, I don’t think I’ll return to it. It had too many glitches and constant updates. I can’t recommend the Sensi enough!

The thermostat was fantastic when it functioned. A real game changer for a while. Then it would lose connection frequently. Reconnecting it became an annoying hassle. I think the thermostat itself is to blame, not so much the app. They rely on each other, so my thoughts are mixed. The app stands out by itself too. User-friendly and pretty efficient when the thermostat stays linked. It just doesn’t hold up in the long run.
