SimCity BuildIt Tips

Be a good neighbor. If you see a valuable item listed for $1 by a neighbor, do not take it. Someone's probably trading it to a friend.

Be a good neighbor part two. I'll sometimes keep my trade depot stocked with rare goodies (or long term items) for my neighbors. If I see something good in the Trade HQ, but I don't need it, I'll often pick it up anyways and list it. Things that take a long time like Sugar and Spices, Glass, etc. Even if no one takes it, Daniel will eventually reimburse the cost by buying it from you. No harm, no foul, and yet you've given your neighbors opportunities to find stuff easier.

Campfires are best built at night.  Load up the factories with all the long term items before you go to bed so that when you wake up you'll have your fire pits, frozen yogurt, cream, electronics and other goodies ready and waiting for you. The simple items: metal, wood, plastic are better made during the day while you can babysit the game.

Can I get that on easy-pay? If faced with a large road upgrade, build a small section of cross street. It will break up the road into smaller, more reasonable payments. You'll still eventually need to upgrade but you can put the expense off for a while. It's like putting the upgrades on a payment plan.

Be Social!: Join one of the Facebook groups to find friends to play with. There's a bunch of them. Each has it's own personality and culture. When joining, I'd suggest being a fly on the wall for a bit to understand how each group interacts before jumping right in to the middle of things.

I really like this game, but there are a couple of things that just don't make sense when playing. One thing that bugs me is that we can't delete or move roads without the buildings automatically relocating! I mean, come on, let me fix it when I want to! It's so annoying to have to demolish my whole city every time I want to try out some new design challenges. And don't get me started on the train requirements – after putting in months of effort to get another train line, now I'm told I have to "upgrade my train wallet" to use it. And guess what? That upgrade costs a crazy amount of real money.

I really love this game! I remember playing the PC versions back in the day too. I enjoy that you included regions, just like what I recall from SimCity Deluxe 4. But here's a special request from me: it would be fantastic if you could add an option, similar to SimCity 3000 Unlimited, where we can designate a building as historical. This way, if we prefer to keep it as a low or medium residential area, it won't automatically upgrade to high residential. It would be wonderful not to have to constantly deal with those hard hat symbols. Thank you so much!

I used to love playing this game, and I have happily invested both time and money into it over the years. However, it seems like the game's development has stagnated, particularly with the trains, which have caused severe issues with the servers, making the game unplayable. The game mechanics feel outdated and rudimentary, especially the inability to rearrange items without moving each one individually. Additionally, after spending a significant amount on Maxis Manors, it is frustrating that there is no option to store them (or any other items for that matter). It appears that the main focus for EA is generating profit rather than providing an improved gaming experience. While I accepted the idea of in-game purchases for a quality product, the current situation feels excessive and disappointingly unsustainable.

So, I was playing this game and overall it was pretty good. But here's the deal - there were some glitches when I tried to put things into production at the commercial buildings and factories; stuff just wasn't saving right. They also removed the option to watch ads for rewards, which was a bummer. It meant you had to either spend sim cash (which is now harder to earn) or wait it out. But hey, good news - they've brought back the ads! I've bumped up my rating from 2 stars to 4 because this change has really improved the gameplay experience.

So, I was really excited because I finally gathered enough stuff to unlock a new part of the map in the game. I also set this challenge where you compete with others to earn more points. But guess what? As soon as I entered the challenge, it used up all my stuff without unlocking the new map section, leaving me with an incomplete challenge. And to make things worse, I even spent some real money to gather the remaining items I needed. I reached out to EA support hoping for a solution, but all they gave me was a very standard reply. They didn't offer me a refund or even mention giving back my lost items. It's frustrating because I truly enjoy playing this game, but the people managing it seem to care very little about genuine players and our problems.

Sounds like you had a great time playing the game with its cool graphics and fun gameplay! It would be helpful to have more tutorials for specific parts of the game. Updating the items to match the city's overall look would be a nice touch, especially if some pieces could be resized. Having an 8x booster sounds like a good idea too! The variety in the game keeps it engaging. Saving others' designs or blueprints could also be pretty neat if you wanted to recreate a city you admire.
