Simplii Financial - Banking & budgeting app

The service was terrible. They claimed everything could be done online, but that wasn't true. After opening my account, they asked me to go in person to Canada Post for verification. If I have to go in person anyway, I might as well open the account with a more trustworthy bank.

Everything was fine until this morning. About 8 hours ago, the app was working perfectly. But now, whenever I try to open it, it just keeps crashing. Following advice from other reviewers, I've cleared the cache, uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version of the app. I've also tried using it on both WiFi and mobile data, but no luck. I've been trying to use it at home in the GTA area of Ontario. However, it still crashes and shows an error message saying there are bugs that need to be fixed in the app.

I tried the new version. It had a rough start but got better quickly. I really enjoy using the app. I recommend doing more real-world testing on hardware before launching new versions. I have experience in network computer support for several years and still help people with software and hardware issues. Adding the feature to lock credit accounts would enhance security in future updates. I'm surprised that your tech experts haven't thought of this yet. If you need assistance, feel free to contact me. This app is so well designed and user-friendly. I hardly ever face any problems with the connection. It would be great if we could search for specific words within selected accounts, like looking for 'Cable' instead of just amounts. Another helpful feature would be to display a history of bill payments for each account that we have set up.

eDeposit needs improvement. When entering the deposit amount, the keyboard covers important fields which can lead to them being overlooked. After making a deposit, you have to fully close and reopen the app for the new funds to be shown. This may make one think the deposit failed and accidentally submit the same cheque again. Overall, the app functions properly but these issues must be addressed.

There are too many annoying popups and ads in the app, it's really hard to use. The bright Barbie pink color is terrible and makes it tough to see things on the screen. Also, the app is missing a bunch of features that are available on the web browser version. It feels like this app constantly asks for money and is becoming less and less usable.

The app works well for me. I can easily do my banking with it. However, the new bright colors are overwhelming and not friendly for people who are neurodivergent. I know they want to seem cool and trendy, but I wish there was a way to make the colors more subdued. Right now, the app is not accommodating for people who are neurodivergent. The combination of bright poison green on neon pink actually makes me feel sick, so I've had to move the app into a subfolder to avoid looking at it too much.
