Introducing SkEye
SkEye aims to be an advanced planetarium for Android. The features are geared towards the experienced visual observer, though the interface tries to keep it simple for the beginner. If you are beginning with astronomy, SkEye can help you identify bright stars, planets and constellations simply by pointing your phone / tablet in their direction. This is a great way to familiarize yourself with the sky.
Virtual DSC
A unique feature of SkEye is that you can strap your phone to a telescope (or a pair of binoculars) to get a PUSHTO guide, without additional equipment! You only need to follow a simple alignment procedure. Find out more about it in the Documentation section.
For the pro
If you are an advanced user or wish to support the project, consider purchasing the pro version It has a larger object database and features that are more useful to the advanced user. Detailed comparison is in the Features section.
FAQs
Q.Why doesn't automatic scroll work on my device? Only manual scroll works.
A.For automatic scrolling, SkEye needs at least two sensors to be present on your device: Acceleromter and Magnetometer.
You can use this app to check which sensors are present and whether they are in working condition.
Q.Why is the view too laggy or too jittery?
A.If the view lags behind when you move the device, then you should increase the sensitivity of the sensors from the settings screen. On the other hand, if the view is very jittery (shaky), then you should decrease the sensitivity.
