Furthermore, it also relays details to the SmartPlay Studio regarding available apps and their installation status on the infotainment system. Notably, this application is exclusively compatible with a specific range of Maruti Suzuki models and audio systems.

1. What is Smartplay Dock App?

The concept of Smartplay Dock app is to mount your phone on vehicle infotainment

system using smartphone dock and seamlessly access easy audio controls &

smartphone functions with lesser driver distraction.

2. How to use this app?

Connect the smartphone with the compatible infotainment system present in Maruti

Suzuki vehicle.

You can use the app by tapping on different tabs i.e. Media (control your in-vehicle

audio system), Contacts, Navigation and Assist (if available).

Smartplay Dock has two modes of usage: Dock and Undock mode.

Dock mode works in landscape orientation while Undock mode works in portrait

orientation.

While driving, the app goes to landscape orientation for a better & safer user

experience.

3. Is the app usage dependent on smartphone dock?

MGA provided smartphone dock is recommended to be used for a safe and

enhanced experience.

4. What is the preliminary requirement for using this app?

Bluetooth pairing with Maruti Suzuki compatible audio is the preliminary requirement

to use the app features.

5. Which all Maruti Suzuki models are compatible with this app?

Refer to Maruti Suzuki website to check the list of vehicles having audio compatible

with Smartplay Dock app.

6. Can this app be used without Maruti Suzuki Infotainment system?

Yes, limited functionality may work i.e. Bluetooth music, calling, messaging and

navigation.

7. Does the Smartplay Dock app require internet to function?

The app needs internet for authentication, online music and navigation services.

8. Who all can download the app and use?

The app can be downloaded from Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Any

registered Maruti Suzuki vehicle owner (with compatible Infotainment system) can

use the complete app features. However, any user can experience the app in guest

mode with limited features.

9. How do I know if my app is connected with vehicle or not?

An icon on app Home Screen updates the user about the current status of vehicleapp connection. If the vehicle-app connection is inactive, the icon is grey. 

APP LOGIN

1. How can I login to this app?

The steps for login are as follows:

a) Use registered Maruti Suzuki vehicle details i.e. VIN (Vehicle Identification

Number) or registration number.

b) Authenticate through your valid phone number to receive OTP.

This phone no need not mandatorily linked with vehicle VIN or Registration no.

2. I have two Maruti Vehicles, which vehicle details should I use to login to this

app?

Details of Maruti Suzuki vehicle with compatible Smartplay Dock app should be used

for login..

3. I am not able to login to the app using my registered VIN or registration

number.

    The smart studio I installed in my car is still having some issues. I'm not sure if it's because of the new phone or the new version of Android 10 that has Android Auto built-in. It's not very easy to use. I've asked the service technician to call me for help.

    This app should have a feature to update the smartplay studio infotainment system's software to the latest version. My current software version is MD-0820 and the latest version is MD-1220. How can I update it?

    My car's VIN and mobile number are correct, I made sure of that at the service center. But I'm still getting an error saying they don't match with my phone number. So, I can't log in and use the app with my car yet.

    You can't give zero stars on the Maruti apps. You need to register to access features, but they don't send the OTP. I've been trying for 2 months, but no luck. Please fix this issue. Others are facing the same problem based on comments.

    Connecting my phone to navigate using the USB cable is a real hassle. I miss the old infotainment system that worked smoothly with an SD card. The new Maruti Suzuki Smartplay Studio, on the other hand, has been a complete disappointment for me.

    I really don't like the Maruti apps. I've been trying to use it for five months now, but no luck. You have to register to access the features, but they don't send the OTP. It's frustrating that even the service center couldn't help. And seeing others facing the same issues in the comments makes me feel validated. The VIN number not matching the mobile number is a common problem too. This app is just so terrible. Hope they fix these issues soon.
