Read on for some tips and tricks for Snake Rivals!
The core gameplay is mostly similar to slither.io, in that you slide around, eat apples (instead of dots), and try to get other snakes to run into you. The core difference is in the rainbow balls that you find sitting around. When you see these, use your speed button to go after them and catch them.
When you grab a rainbow ball, you get some kind of power-up, which is represented by the orange button that pops up near your controls. You can activate a magnet for about thirty seconds, launch a magnet bomb to instantly collect all apples on the screen, turn into a ghost/fish to collect apples without fear of being hit (and to shock other snakes when you come back to snake form), and shoot a flamethrower to try to take out another snake or to steal their objects.
If you see an object that confuses you, watch what it’s doing before you try to eat it. If it’s stationary, as cactuses and many other background items are, then avoid it altogether. If the object is moving, such as a spinning bag of fries, then you can eat it.
Snakes release objects when they are knocked off (such as the bag of fries or traffic cones), which you can then eat, but compared to slither.io, they are not nearly as overpowered. That means that while you want to try to knock out each snake, it’s not entirely important to try to off every snake that you come across. You can simply eat the apples as you please, if you want to.
Unlike a lot of games where you have unlockable chests, the ones in this games contain entirely cosmetic parts. All of your snakes, all of the designs that you can add to them, and all of the other equipment that you can put on them, is cosmetic, and doesn’t affect the gameplay at all whatsoever.
What this means for you is that you don’t have to unlock chests if you don’t want to; you can just keep playing a better looking version of slither.io and trying to get as big as you can. Or if you want to make your snake look as custom as possible, you can keep on trying for the chests.
Any time that you want to get free coins or free gems, go to the shop and hit the free coins or gems button. An ad video will play, and then when it’s done, you’ll get rewarded with whichever free currency you watched the video for.
