FAQs:

- Can I upgrade my old app without downloading the new one?

No. The new app is different from the old one. So you have to download this app. The old app is not updated anymore and can be deleted. The new app, however, is an update of the MoveSafe application. Do you already have this one installed? Then you just need to update it.

- What has changed with the new SNCB application?

The new app :

integrates train occupancy forecasts for safe travel (Coronavirus)

offers more products: Standard Multi (RailPass), Local Multi (KeyCard), Youth Multi (Go Pass) and the Class Upgrade

offers a more advantageous price on Multi products (from 01/02)

is easier to use and calculates your route quicker

allows more personalisation (favourites, best offer proposed according to profile...)

- Can I consult Train Map in the new app?

You cannot consult Train Map in this first version. We are looking into this possibility for a next version. Regular changes are planned in the weeks/months following the release.

- Am I required to create a My SNCB account in the new app?

No. The journey planner remains available without registering. Registration is only required if you want to purchase tickets/Multi in the app.

- How can I pay?

By a credit card (VISA, MasterCard and American Express), by PayPal or by a debit card via Bancontact, KBC and Belfius (app or with card reader).

- Can anyone travel with a ticket bought through the App?

Yes, on condition that the lead passenger is carrying proof of ID and the smartphone/tablet on which the ticket was purchased. The smartphone/tablet must, of course, be turned on and in good working order during the ticket inspection.

- Is it possible that the occupancy prediction is not correct?

The information on the occupancy rate is a prediction, an may therefore (like all predictions) not always reflect the real situation on your train. We hope it can help our customers plan their trip and are working to improve the quality of these predictions.

I had to log in to get a ticket. But when I tried to reset my old account, it showed an error message. All I wanted was a ticket, but the app made me go through so many unnecessary steps. It was frustrating.

The app is terrible. The old one was okay, but then they switched to this one. It makes everything more complicated. They have fewer payment options now. You can only pay with a Belgian Ban Contact or a credit card. There used to be a way to avoid certain high-speed trains, but not anymore. If you're close to the border in Aachen or Maastricht, this app is useless. You can't even buy tickets there. SNCB, why did you do this?!?!?!

It's been a while since my first review. The app is still bad, and most reviews agree. It's very slow, especially when loading timetables. Buying tickets often leads to errors. Updating payment info is only possible when you're buying a ticket, which is inconvenient.

The new app looks good and is easier to use than before, but it's missing some important features I used a lot, like sharing trips to my calendar. Once they add those back in, I'll give it a higher rating.

The app lets you buy tickets for past trains, which is different from other apps. It's easy to get confused because it automatically sells you a ticket for the current day. I tried to buy a ticket for 3 PM the next day but it sold me a ticket for 3 PM of the previous day. So, I ended up with a ticket that was only valid for a few minutes. The app's clock is one hour behind. Fortunately, they refunded me in the end.

I always check the train schedule to plan my daily commute. It's convenient to see all available trains quickly using the shortcuts. But it would be great if I could get notified, like 20 minutes before my saved trips. Could you please add this feature? It shouldn't be too difficult to include, right?

Bought a go pass 10 and a single go pass 1 yesterday. Money was taken from my account but no tickets generated. Customer service didn't respond. Trains are always late with NMBS. Got the refund after 1 month instead of 2 weeks. Will add 2 more stars as customer support on call was good.

The new app is not as good as the old one. You can't modify the theme and the stops seem linked even with time remaining. It only shows departure time, not the arrival time when you tap on the train. Your stop is now at the bottom of the timetable, which is confusing. It automatically selects the first option when you give up your second station. There are too many choices given when selecting a time. Stick to using the old app, it's much easier to use compared to this new one. The new one feels like it's still in the testing phase.

The new app is way better to use now. The only thing that bugs me is having to make an account before buying a train ticket, unlike the website.
