Snowbreak: Containment Zone - Beginner Tips
Don't Try To Rush
Every time you start a battle in Snowbreak: Containment Zone, there'll be a blue marker showing you the destination. This destination can sometimes be quite far, and your path can be covered with enemies. When this happens, your first instinct might be to keep running to the objective since you don't get anything for defeating enemies.
Although, this can be quite a poor decision because the further areas are usually blocked until you clear all the enemies in a particular area. If you try to rush to the objective, you'll aggro all the enemies in your path, and they'll easily overwhelm you even if you're using a close-range Operative.
Once you aggro an enemy in this game, they'll keep chasing you to the ends of the world until you leave the stage.
Moreover, it's quite impossible to avoid an enemy's aggro unless you're specifically doing a stealth mission.
With this in mind, it's recommended to take it slow and pace yourself while in a combat stage. Defeat the groups of enemies as you encounter them so that you don't get overwhelmed. This is especially required for stages where you fight the group of enemies that worship Titans (Adventists).
These enemies usually come in large groups with at least one or two bigger monsters that can deal a ton of damage. It's already hard to fight them when you deal with one group at a time.
Always Use A Support In The Team
You can use up to three Operatives in a single team when it comes to Snowbreak: Containment Zone. You can switch between these Operatives dynamically on the battlefield, and each of them has a set of three skills from the start. These include one active skill, one support skill, and one ultimate.
With the intricate design of these skills and the game's combat in general, it's necessary to use at least one Support character in your team. Although, a Support character doesn't necessarily mean a healer or a shielder. For example, four-star Acacia's support skill can slow down enemies for a few seconds.
Similarly, five-star Lyfe's skill can freeze the surrounding enemies for a few seconds. All these skills can give you a significant edge in combat.
Don't Misuse Your Presence
Presence is the limited energy of Snowbreak: Containment Zone that regenerates every six minutes or so. You have to use this energy to continue the main story, but a section called Operations also unlocks after progressing in the story. This section has many stages where you can spend your Presence to get specific items.
These items can include SilverBucks, Operative EXP materials, Weapon EXP materials, and many other things. It's important to learn how to spend your Presence efficiently. Of course, your priority will always be to continue the main story as far as you can since it gives you a ton of materials and DigiCash.
Although, you can get stopped in the middle of the story since the game will need you to get to a certain level. When this happens, you have to spend your Presence in the Operation section. During the start of the game, it's recommended to spend it all on the Operative and Weapon EXP materials.
It might not seem like you need these materials at the start, but the cost of upgrading these items gets higher and higher during the late game.
Once you've unlocked the further sections in the Operations, you can farm the Weapon Ascension and Operative Neural Materials. Although, you don't need a lot of these items until you get past level 50. Finally, you can farm Logistics Officers whenever you have some extra energy.
The drops from this particular Operation get much better during the late game, so it's recommended to save your Baldr Inhibitors for the late game unless they're time-limited. Try to constantly check your inventory so that you don't end up losing these time-limited Inhibitors.
Pay Attention To Your Lineup
When you're preparing for a battle, you'll first be taken to a lineup screen where you can select your characters. This section can be a little counter-intuitive since the placement of Operatives here isn't the same as the placement in the game. The middle Operative on this screen takes the first position once you start the stage.
The left Operative takes second and the right one takes third. This might not seem that important, but it can mess with your muscle memory and make you switch to the wrong Operative. It's important to pay attention to your lineup since it takes a few seconds to switch again if you switch to the wrong Operative.
The Lineup screen is also the best place to check your Operative levels and upgrades to make sure everything is in place.
Do All Your Dailies
Once you progress just a bit into the story, you'll unlock the Tasks section where you can see Daily, Weekly, Target, and Main Story tasks. The Daily and Weekly tasks are the most important here since these are time-limited and you'll miss out on their rewards if you don't finish them.
Daily tasks reset every time the server clock strikes 00:00 (different for each server) while the Weekly tasks reset at the start of every Monday. Both these types of tasks can be great to get a bunch of DigiCash that can be used on the Gacha system, which makes them all the more important.
You should finish these tasks every day even if you don't plan on continuing the story.
Finally, the Target section is where you can find the Achievements of this game while the Main Story tasks give you a ton of materials if you progress them properly.
Know Your Weapons
An Operative's weapon contributes as much to their kit as their skills and Logistic Officers. Each weapon has a special ability, but other than that, they also have different fire rates, ammo, and ATK. Apart from being compatible with the special skills, an Operative also needs to be compatible with these three stats of the weapon.
For example, you'd want to use a higher ATK but lower ammo weapon on five-star Yao since her skill can essentially give her free ammo and she needs to focus on dealing higher damage in every single shot.
