The Sound Meter app, also known as a Sound Level Meter (or SPL) app, measures environmental noise levels to display decibel values in various formats. Users can enjoy a clean and aesthetically pleasing graphic design with a high frame rate courtesy of this intelligent sound meter application.

Highlighted Features:

- Displays decibel readings through a gauge

- Shows the current noise reference level

- Presents minimum, average, and maximum decibel values

- Depicts decibel levels on a graph

- Indicates the elapsed time of decibel measurements

- Allows for decibel calibration on different devices

The microphones in most Android devices are optimized for capturing human speech. Due to device limitations, extremely loud sounds (above approximately 90 dB) may not be accurately detected on most devices. Therefore, it is advisable to use this app as a supplementary tool only. For precise decibel measurements, we recommend using an actual sound level meter.

So basically, the app is not quite accurate and it's kind of annoying. It seems to function fine, but the readings might be a little off. For example, it claims I can speak at 85dB without having to shout. Perhaps my phone isn't picking up sounds accurately. Also, it's showing me push ads which I find intrusive. I don't really have an issue with seeing ads when I open the app, but constantly monitoring my actions to show me pop-up ads every half hour is crossing the line.

I used to believe that this was the greatest decibelometer app available. However, with the recent update, I've encountered a problem where the buttons like the contrast and reset buttons are difficult to press. You have to touch them in a very specific spot and even then it may take 3 or 4 attempts before it responds to your touch. If this issue is fixed, I would be happy to increase my rating to 5 stars.

I really like this app, but I think it would be even better if they added the option to track measurements in frequency. It would add more value to the app while keeping the current functions intact. As technology advances, human progress is also advancing. Thank you and best regards.

It looks good. The device has a graph and shows the exact number. Not sure how often it takes measurements, maybe around 2 or 3 times per second. It provides detailed information on different levels of sound. A 60-decibel reading indicates a normal conversation. I'm using it to test the volume of my alarm clocks, which have all been around 60 decibels - seems quite quiet. I've already returned two clocks because they were too soft to wake me up. Hopefully this one will be better.

I love this app so much! I've been using it for ages to get precise results. For instance, whenever I need to tune out some annoying background noises (like those pesky barking dogs that disrupt my sleep), I rely on it to measure sound levels and find the perfect white-noise machine to help me out. I recently got the YogaSleep "Marpac Dohm Sound Machine," and it's been a game-changer! I also used the app when testing out our new dehumidifier to make sure it wasn't too loud before deciding to keep it. This app has really come in handy in so many situations!

Oh, I had a little issue with some sound level measuring apps I tried out. So, most of them were pretty close, like within 2-3dB of each other, which was good to know. But then there was this one app that seemed a bit off - it consistently showed sound levels about 10dB lower than the rest. I'm not completely certain if that one is incorrect and the others are accurate, but it definitely stood out as different from the rest.
