Why there is no video export in Spectrolizer?

Spectrolizer is music player, interactive 3D (game-like) visualizer and spectrum analyzer, it is not intended for video production.

Visualization works using 3D gaming graphics (OpenGL), it's displayed with a frequency of 60 frames per second and allows you to perform various actions inside a 3D scene; rotation, movement, scaling.

In addition, this visualization is too complicated for compressed videos - it may contain a very large amount of visual information and may require a very high video bit-rate.

The more small details on the screen and the higher the speed of their movement, then higher the video bit-rate required to create good quality video, this ultimately leads to an increase in the size of the video file.

The medium quality video recorded from the screen takes about 1 GB in 5 minutes.

Moreover, the ability to export video comes into confrontation with the concept of the application:

- All visual content generated by Spectrolizer is for non-commercial use in accordance with EUAL. We cannot provide a tool that can contribute to violation of the terms of the license agreement.

- The basic concept is that the application allows you to generate a huge stream of visual information from a small MP3 file - visual content that you will never see, not on YouTube and not on TV. You can change the movement speed of the spectrograms as you like (you can even simulate the speed of sound propagation) and we are not going to put any restrictions on the user's imagination for the sake of the fact that it is impossible to save this as a video.

- Our built-in products are designed to improve the quality of visualization, that is, increase the resolution of spectrum analysis, that is, increase the number of small details on the screen. It turns out that, the higher the quality of the visualization, then more difficult to save it as a video with good quality - either the file will be huge and not suitable for streaming or sharing, or all small details will be destroyed by compression.

- If after a couple of years the graphics of all mobile devices will work at 120 FPS, then Spectrolizer will also work at a new level of quality, despite the fact that it is possible or not to create video with the same quality.

Note: We apologize, but we won’t respond to users on the page of Spectrolizer in Google Play if their reviews contain the word “video”. Thus, by our attempt to explain something about video, we will increase the number of non-target installations - when the user searches for an application to create a video, but installs the Spectrolizer without reading either the description or the EULA. Ultimately, this leads to a decrease in the rating of the application. In short, the word "video" is forbidden, and we do not want to increase the weight of this keyword.

How to record a video of visualization?

If in any case you want to record a video - turn live visual content (vector 3D graphics) into dead visual content (raster 2D graphics).

You can use a third-party screen recorder or record it on PC from screen of an Android OS Emulator, but keep in mind:

- All visual content generated by Spectrolizer is for non-commercial use in accordance with license agreement - EUAL.

- We are not responsible for the quality and size of such videos and do not accept any complaints about this in particular on the page of the Spectrolizer in Google Play.

- If you are making a video for YouTube or similar video hosting sites, please note that YouTube users can see it in even worse quality, as YouTube chooses the quality of broadcasting depending on the user's Internet data transfer speed.

- You yourself have to think about how to make the video not so big and suitable for streaming - depending on the intensity of the music, when not to use high resolution of spectrum analysis, when not to set the speed of the spectrograms too high, when not to use overlapping spectrograms with different speeds.

- In the description for the video, at least add a link to the application and a message saying that you can see the visualization in much better quality in the application itself. Since distributing non-quality content, you only make things worse for everyone.

And one more thing: Stop taking revenge on us by decreasing the rating of the application, for the fact that we created the application visual content of which is impossible to stream or share.

Why can’t visualization work as live wallpaper or on a lock screen?

Spectrolizer performs non trivial stereo spectrum analysis of the sound, which requires CPU and battery resources.

In high quality, almost every pixel on the screen is the result of spectrum analysis.

It will be too impractical and resource-expensive to use this visualization as live wallpaper and then covering it with icons of applications.

Normal practice is not to use the CPU too intensively when the application is in the background, other system processes also need to use a CPU, this can lead to OS hangs.

In addition, users will not be happy to see how quickly discharged the battery of device.
