Frequently Asked Questions

Can I run Speedify on multiple devices?

Yes! You can install the Speedify client software on all your computers and mobile devices; however, you will be limited to 5 active sessions per user account. This means that you can sign in with your account on up to 5 devices simultaneously at the most.

If you are changing devices and you previously had 5 devices active, you will need to stop using one and after 7 days, you will be able to sign in with a new one.

What apps does Speedify work with?

Speedify is a Virtual Private Network, or VPN, that runs in the background and secures all the other applications on your phone. 

To other apps on your phone, (including built-in apps, like the App Store or Play Store), Speedify seems to be a normal internet connection.

Thus, Speedify works with any apps that use the internet (except other VPNs). Because Speedify can divide your traffic up between connections on a per-packet basis, even single-socket activities, such as streaming movies (like YouTube), uploading to and downloading from cloud storage, and even transferring files via FTP, can be given a speed boost.

Netflix does not allow you to stream movies while connected to Speedify.  However, you can browse through the films and watch episodes you have previously downloaded.  

For legal reasons, BitTorrent is not allowed on most of our Speed Servers. There are a few servers on which torrenting is allowed. If you want to download torrents, you can open the Servers screen by clicking on the Settings icon. Then choose the Torrent Friendly Server option. Click the Settings to return to the primary screen and Speedify will automatically connect to a server that allows torrents:

How do I change my location?

When you use Speedify, all of your network traffic flows through one of our Speed Servers. To software and websites that attempt to track your location (geolocation) via IP address, you will appear to be wherever our Speed Server is located.

Access the Server menu by tapping on the ☰ icon on the main Speedify Dashboard. This will bring up the general Settings menu, where you will find Servers listed first.

Speedify automatically connects to the best servers for performance. However, you can manually select individual servers around the globe.

Fastest Server: By default, Speedify picks the closest Speed Server, which will give you the fastest internet connection. 

Torrent Friendly Server: This connects you to a server that allows BitTorrent traffic. These servers are located in Amsterdam and, depending on your location, maybe significantly slower than closer servers.

Manual selection: You can also select a Speed Server from a specific country; Speedify will show a few countries that you are likely to use, but you can select "View More." to see the complete list of countries. This allows you to experience the internet as if you were in that country. You can drill down using the arrows to the right of the list to see individual cities within a country, as well as servers within a city.
