Spider Solitaire is a timeless card game!
This new, FREE version is ideal for playing anytime and anywhere.
How to Play
The objective of the game is to eliminate all cards from the tableau by organizing them properly first. You start with 54 cards dealt into ten piles, faced down except for the top cards. The tableau allows you to build down by rank, and you can move sequences of cards that belong to the same suit together. When none of the tableau piles are empty, you can deal the remaining 50 cards to the tableau in batches of ten.
Tips to Win
Empty a Pile ASAP
Your first mission? Clear out one of those ten piles. An empty spot is gold—it gives you room to shuffle cards around. Focus on flipping facedown cards to free up a pile early.
Build Down with Purpose
Stack cards in descending order (King to Ace), but don’t just slap them anywhere. Plan your moves to keep suits together when you can—mixed suits are harder to shift later.
Prioritize Same-Suit Runs
You can move a sequence only if it’s all the same suit. So, if you’ve got a chance to line up spades or hearts in order, go for it. That’s how you’ll clear full runs and win.
Hold Off on New Deals
Don’t deal those extra cards from the deck too quick. Work every angle with the cards you’ve got first. Adding more too soon can bury your good moves under a mess.
Uncover Facedown Cards
Those hidden cards in the piles? Get ‘em flipped! Move top cards around to reveal what’s underneath—unlocking them is key to building your sequences.
Use Kings Wisely
Kings are big dogs—they can’t go on anything else. Try to move them to empty piles or keep them from blocking smaller cards you need to stack.
Break Up Mixed Stacks When Needed
Got a pile with mixed suits? Sometimes you gotta split it to free up a useful card. Just make sure you’ve got a plan to rebuild, or you’ll clog the board.
Think Ahead with Sequences
Before you move a big chunk of cards, check where it’s landing. Will it block something you need? Keep your options open so you’re not stuck later.
Save Space for Aces
Aces finish a run, but they can pile up fast. Try to keep a spot or two ready to tuck them away as you build down from Kings—don’t let ‘em crowd you out.
