When Was Star TV Established?

Star TV, one of Turkey's most popular channels, started broadcasting in March 1989 as a national channel. Then, in the first months of 1990, it began to attract attention from a wide audience across the country by presenting soap operas that were loved and watched by everyone.

The channel, which became part of the Doğan Media Group in 2004, has undertaken many interesting projects. Later, the successful channel was transferred to the Doğuş Media Group in 2011. It continued to present the programs it prepared meticulously and regularly with its professional team. In 2013, it switched to wide screen. In this way, it gained the opportunity to continue professional broadcasts.

Today, the channel, which continues to be watched by large audiences, offers high-resolution broadcasts and allows its viewers to watch quality programs.

Who Owns Star TV?

When we look at the history of Star TV, which hosts quality productions, we can see that it has been managed by many people in different periods. It was managed by Ahmet Özal between 1989-1992. Later, Cem Özer became the owner of the channel between 1989-2004. TMSF took over the management of the channel between 2004-2005. Aydın Doğan was the owner of the channel between 2005-2011. The owner of the channel from 2011 to the present is Ferit Şahenk.

Ferit Şahenk was born in March 1964. He is the chairman of the board of directors of Doğuş media group. He was also the former chairman of the board of directors of Garanti Bank. Şahenk, a successful businessman, completed his university education at Harvard University. Şahenk is married in his private life and has a child from this marriage.
