Introducing Suspects: Mystery Mansion

Suspects: Mystery Mansion is a video game developed by Wildlife Studios. The game centers around animal characters trying to find out who the murderer is before the murderer kills them. The primary aspects of this game that make it different from other Mafia-type games are the built-in voice chat and an in-game economy which rewards you for playing matches.

Available Platforms

    iOS

    Android

    Steam

A Cutesy Whodunit from Google Play:

Under its cutesy visuals lies a game of murder most foul as up to ten players work together to uncover the secret killer. Thanks to varied game modes with different roles, voice chat, and sumptuous hand-drawn visuals, it’s social deduction at its best.

Gameplay

Play online with up to nine other real players as you work to solve the murder mystery. Perform investigative tasks to inch closer to identifying the killers, but beware—the culprits are among you and will stop at nothing to thwart the investigation!

During intermissions, players discuss potential suspects and share clues. Each individual is a potential suspect in this interactive deduction game. Utilize the built-in voice chat to communicate in real-time. Analyze locations, tasks, and behaviors to make informed decisions.

After discussions, cast your vote to evict a suspect from the mansion. Be cautious—voting out an innocent player benefits the killers and leads to their victory.

Participate in Eight Unique Game Modes with Special Roles

Chit Chat: Talk in proximity with nearby players. Plan strategies or reveal your identity as the killer as you take them out!

Vigilantes: Become the Vigilante to find and exact vengeance on the killer, or risk your own life in the process!

Hide & Kill: No body reporting, no voting, no bomb sabotage. The killers are coming—hide and survive if you can!

Poisoner: Killers transform into poisoners, administering a slow death to any guest unfortunate enough to cross their path.

Master of Disguise: Assume the role of the spy, a killer who can take on the appearance of any player to mislead others.

Everyone Can Kill: It's a free-for-all! Guests can kill other players just like killers. Adapt your strategy to win!

Boogie Monster: One player becomes the boogie monster¹, a super-killer with mysterious powers and a deadly touch.

Team Wars: No tasks, no reporting—just chaos! Players are divided into three teams in this Battle Royale. The last team standing wins.

Beginners Guide

How can I create/join a Match?

There are two types of matches in Suspects: Public Matches and Private Matches.

“Play with friends” is a private match you can create which gives you a Room Code to share with your friends. You can also join your friends' private matches with a Room Code.

“Play” allows you to play public matches with random players. It is not possible to play public games with friends.

How to join a match with friends

1. On the main screen, tap the “Play with friends” on the bottom right of your screen;

2. Enter the “Room code” of your friends room. Once entered, the “Join” button will be highlighted; tap it to enter the lobby.

How to create a match with friends

1. On the main screen, tap the “Play with friends” on bottom right of your screen;

2. Then, tap on “Create Match”. Afterwards, you’ll be taken to the lobby screen. At the top of this screen, you’ll see “Room code” which will be an assortment of letters. Give this code to your friends.

3. Once your friends are ready they'll appear in the lobby. You can then begin the game by tapping on “Start Game”.

*If you created a Private Match and you are the host, you can adjust the game mode and match rules by tapping the icon next to the room code!

How can I Sabotage?

Sabotaging is pretty simple. All Killers alive can place up to 3 bombs anywhere in the house.

After you have chosen the perfect place for at least two of them, you can choose between activating them or finding a place for the third one.

Once the bombs are activated, one of the Guests is needed to complete a task and prevent the explosion. If they fail, you won, suspect!

Also, Killers can deactivate lights to keep everyone from seeing too far from their own spot, which is a great way to hide bodies o.O

To reactivate the lights, a Guest must go to the garage and complete a task.

While deactivating lights can be performed by dead Killers, placing bombs cannot be performed by Ghosts!

Keep in mind that all sabotages have a cooldown, so use your time wisely!

How do I choose my Character?

The portraits hanging on the wall on the game’s main page represent all the characters you currently have unlocked.

If a portrait shows a ? sign it means a character is still locked for you.

To pick your character, just tap on your favorite portrait on the wall to open that character’s menu. Tap on the heart symbol below a character to mark it as your favorite for your next matches.

This screen is also where you can add different accessories and outfits to your character! Anything you have unlocked will be displayed here so you can equip it before joining matches.

During matches, you can only choose to play with the characters you have unlocked. However, if another player has already chosen that same character before you entered the match you may be assigned a different one.

How do I set my Region and Language?

Communication and discussion are very important to succeed in Suspects, so it is vital that you set your game to a language that you can fully understand.

You can change the game language and chat language by following these steps:

1. On the main screen, tap the gear icon on the top right corner of the screen to open the Settings menu;

2. Then, tap “Language” on the left side;

3. Select the desired game language and chat language by clicking on the > button.

Another way to select the chat language of a Public Match:

1. After tapping on Play Public Match, you will be taken to the Mode Selection screen.

2. On the top right corner, tap on the microphone symbol.

3. You will be able to see the chat language options available for the matches.

How do Meetings work and how to call a Meeting?

The goal of Meetings is to discuss who the Killers are and vote them out. Any player can call a Meeting and Vote, except for Ghosts.

Meetings are the only time when everyone is allowed to speak… except for Ghosts.

Well, Ghosts don’t speak anyway, right?

Wrong! Ghosts have their own separate voice chat with all the other Ghosts, but they can only speak during the matches. The Ghost chat is deactivated during meetings.

During the meeting, players can choose to Vote for who they think the Killer is, or to Skip the vote. If a player receives the majority of votes they are kicked out. If the majority of players skip the vote, then nobody will be kicked out.

When someone is voted out their role (Guest or Killer) may or may not be revealed. This depends on the range of IQ points the players within that match have. The higher the IQ points, the harder the game becomes, so the roles of players that are voted out may not be revealed.

How to call a Meeting?

You can call a meeting by:

1. Ringing the bell in the Hall

2. Reporting a dead body

Ringing the bell in the Hall has a cooldown time, meaning that meetings can’t be called as soon as the game starts or directly after a meeting has ended.

How does the Matchmaking work in Public Matches?

While we welcome Suspects of all ages and from all over the world, we want to make sure you're locked in this mansion with the best people near you!

First of all, it all depends on your age! Matches are separated into Young Players and Adult Players. Please make sure you select your correct age for the best match results.

Next, we will take into consideration your preferred language. Suspects is all about communication so we want to make sure you are connected to players that speak the same language as you do.

And lastly, we're going to pair you with the people that have the nearest range of IQ points, of course! You only want to play with people as smart as you, right? The more matches you win, the more IQ points you earn!

Considering all the points above, the game will create the best possible match in a short time, but it may take a little longer if there are not too many players online.

How does the Voice Chat work?

Playing Suspects is all about communication!

For that, the voice chat is going to be available for you as soon as you join a room. It is represented by a box on the top right corner that will show you two important icons:

Microphone: represents your voice

Speaker: represents other players' voices

The green color indicates that they are activated and red that they are not. So if your microphone is red and sound is on, you'll be able to listen to others but they won't be able to listen to you.

Voice chat will be available while waiting in the lobby and during emergency meetings for everyone that is alive. You can mute other players by tapping on the speaker next to their characters.

Ghosts will have a separate voice chat that is available only during the match, and will be turned off during meetings.

Remember to use the communication channels appropriately. Here are some basic rules:

- Avoid loud noises/music while unmuted in the voice chat;

- Don't scream or shout while unmuted in voice chat;

- Be kind and respect other players

IQ Points

IQ Points is how your progress is measured in Suspects. Depending on your performance in Classic Mode matches, these can go up or down.

Guests

The following increases your IQ Points:

1. Winning the match

2. Completing your assigned tasks *

3. Voting for the Killer (even if the Killer is not evicted) *

Killers

The following increases your IQ Points:

1. Winning the match

2. Killing guests *

3. Sabotaging the other players (triggering bombs, disabling lights) *

Regardless if you are a Guest or a Killer, the following decreases your IQ Points:

1. Losing the match

2. Leaving a match before it ends

*These are Bonus Points and can be earned only until a certain amount of IQ points has been reached.

After a match, you’ll be given a summary of your performance in that match. The number of points earned can vary depending on the number of times you did the actions above (complete task, vote for the correct killer, etc.).

What can I do as a Ghost?

Guests can become a Ghost if they are killed by someone. Killers can become Ghosts if they are voted out after a meeting.

So... what can you do if you are a Ghost?

Dead Guest

Dead Guests can choose between the options below when they are killed:

- Finishing tasks as a Ghost in order to help the Guest team: Walkthrough walls to complete the tasks assigned to you. Keep in mind that Ghosts cannot stop sabotage attempts!

- Being a spectator for the rest of the match: Your character will move automatically as a Ghost and finish your tasks for you. If you prefer, you can turn off the auto-task manager to go and do the tasks by yourself.

Dead Killer

Killer Ghosts cannot kill other Guests now that they’re dead. But there’s something you can do: Sabotaging!

You can't place bombs, but you can turn off the lights to manipulate other players in the match!

What can I do as a Killer?

As a Killer, the main goal is to kill all the Guests in the mansion. However, you must try to do this without being discovered by the Guests!

The number of Killers in each match will depend on the game settings. Each Killer will have to walk around the mansion killing Guests while also pretending to be a Guest.

Besides walking around, Killers can also use trap doors to move around without being seen.

While moving around, try not to look suspicious by acting as a Guest, and avoid letting other players see you using the trap doors!

-Kill Guests;

-Sabotage rooms - place bombs, turn off lights;

-Use trap doors to move around the mansion;

-Call a Meeting and Report a Dead Player;

-Vote to remove other players (during meetings, only while alive);

How to win as a Killer?

There are a few ways to win as a Killer. The first way is by slowly killing all the Guests in the mansion while making sure you are not discovered.

Another way to win as a Killer is by sabotaging. Sabotage consists in placing bombs that explode if nobody shows up to deactivate them, and also in turning off lights in specific areas of the mansion. This is a good way to make Guests move to a specific location in the mansion.

Once the number of Guest survivors is equal or smaller to the number of Killers remaining, the Killers win the game.

What happens after I am killed?

Oh no! Did the Killer get you or did you get ejected?

Regardless of how you ended up as a Ghost, you'll now be able to spook around and talk to other Ghosts through the voice chat! The latter will only be available only while you're in the mansion, you'll be automatically muted once a meeting starts.

Do you like to work? So you'll be able to keep on doing it even after death XD

If you were a Killer on this match, you'll still be able to turn off the lights.

If you were a Guest, you'll still be able to complete your tasks.

Hope you have fun spooking around!

Great app, fun to play but way too many bugs and glitches. Disappointed as I couldn't see my player on the beginners level. Great potential but lazy team; please fix the bugs, especially the one where you can't see your player. Trust me, if I enter a game and the first thing I experience is a glitch, I'm off and never coming back.

The game is good, but there's a little lag. When you try to talk, it lags and echoes pop up out of nowhere. Also, there's an issue with pressing the button; it sometimes doesn't work, though it’s not always due to the time limit. The game is entertaining and interesting, but I hope people find this review useful.

Cool game! I like it more than Among Us, but it would be nice to see players' nicknames during the game if we become friends. Also, being able to join friends in open games would be a great addition. A few edits could make it even better.

I like the game, but a glitch prevents me from seeing other players, making it hard to play. I’ve tried everything, but it still isn’t fixed. It would be a 5-star game if this issue were resolved.

This game is kind of an Among Us rip-off but it's better! Instead of joining different lobbies and typing only what the game allows, this game lets you use your mic, play with friends, invite friends, and enjoy new events. I might be 14, but I know this game is cool!

The game is cool, and the graphics are good, but there's a bug where you can't see the character inside the game. It's hard to play when neither your character nor others' characters are visible. Please fix this!

Good game, with a basic map for beginners. If your IQ is above 857, you unlock a new map; otherwise, you play the basic map. There are special events and three maps—unlock the third map with an IQ above 2500. The only issue is occasional network errors despite having a good connection, causing losses.

    I really liked the game, but I had to uninstall and reinstall it multiple times just to get the character I wanted. Overall, it was much better than Among Us, especially with the voice chat feature. I wish they would allow players to make their created games public so others can join. That's all my complaints, but it's definitely cooler than Among Us!

    Love the game! It's even better than Among Us. I wish they would add a wolf or yeti character, haha. Just a few suggestions: 1) Don't make us lose our level progress when we reach a new level; 2) Create an open lobby for us to see ongoing games and choose which one to join; 3) Make it simpler to find friends and play with them, not just in custom games.

    I can't see anything on my device. The game should have a beginner tutorial for confused players. It would be great to have a feature to save progress and resume after uninstalling the game. Despite these issues, it's actually a good game that deserves more recognition.
