Function not working

Utilizing augmented reality technology, this app enables users to overlay a virtual tape measure/ruler onto the real world using their smartphone camera. Just like with a traditional tape measure/ruler, you can sketch floor plans of rooms and make both horizontal and vertical measurements. Additionally, you can trace a 2D plan and export it in 3D format (dxf).

This app has infinite applications for everybody:

- Personal use: the length measure app for the handyman who loves DIY !

- Real estate professionals (real estate agent, interior design decorator or designer, architect, topographer, energy adviser...): this app will help you make a floorplan of a house, apartment, a specific room of a flat.

- Construction workers can use it to quickly measure jobs : concreter, tile layer, carpet fitter, painter, drywall guy, plasterer, builder, carpenter, electrician, plumber, slater...

- For gardener, landscaper, swimming pool builders and maintenance, digger, earth-moving, navvy: this app also works outside

- Cost estimation professionals: this length measure app can make pricing estimates, it will be a great assistant for quantity surveyor, price studies technician, economist…

- Building industry: foreman, site manager or engineer can drop their tape measure and ruler to perform a quick measurement check

How does this measuring app work?

It relies on ARCore by Google. Machine learning algorithms combine the device sensors data (accelerometer, gyroscope…) with odometry which analyses in real time the video of the camera and relies on visual details of images, in order to scan the environment and find the position and rotation angle of the device.

Please note:

- you can measure in metric (meters, centimeters) or imperial units (feet, inches)

- the app measures distances horizontally (= on the ground) and vertically!

- no need to remove the furniture from the room for measurements. The application determines the intersection between the floor and the target, even if it is hidden.

- The application may have difficulty with some types of tiles. The accuracy is not guaranteed.

- you can move while performing measurements to get closer to your target point, for maximum precision, even if it is not visible and calculated by extrapolation.

It's good for measuring floors because it shows you the linear and square footage, plus a top-down floor plan with all the measurements. The vertical and 3D measurements are only available in the pro version, and there are annoying pop-ups encouraging you to upgrade. I can't verify how well the 3D feature works, but the horizontal measurement is surprisingly accurate. Just so you know, I'm using a Moto Z4.

Measured a room, the result didn't seem right. So I used a regular tape measure to check and found that the app measures shorter than the actual length.

There are just too many ads. To measure horizontally, you have to put it on the floor because there shouldn't be any furniture in the room.

There's this app that keeps acting up, especially when I'm trying to measure something with it. The tape just moves around on its own! It's really annoying me. Don't bother downloading it.

App uninstalled after 4 minutes. No time to try out before ads pop up, asking for £24.99 a year. Ads everywhere as soon as downloaded. Let customers figure out if it's what they want first before asking for money every time you click.

It would be great if the app could measure and detect from the ceiling. When measuring the floor in a room that's already furnished, there are many things that can get in the way and affect the accuracy of the measurement.

This app is great! I can easily measure things without a tape measure. It works offline and is simple to use, making sure my data is useful.

You want it simple. You want horizontal, vertical, and 3D modes separately. You also want to be able to share DXF files. And maybe some additional feedback from the app when closing polygons before saving.

The technology is really cool but the app doesn't have a free version, only a trial. It costs over $20 a month after a few days. It's definitely worth it if you would use it often.

It looks like the app is functioning, but I'm not happy about having to pay for a subscription. I would rate this app one star because I couldn't fully try it out with the subscription screen keep appearing. Asking for credit card details for a free trial seems unnecessary. If it's really free, you shouldn't require a credit card.
