OCR on Text Fairy Guide
After you download and install Text Fairy on your mobile phone, you can follow the guide below to scan texts from an image.
Step 1 Launch the application
Launch Text Fairy on your device. Then, grant permission to access photos, media, and files on your mobile phone as prompted.
Step 2 Upload the image
You can tap the camera icon to take a new image. Alternatively, you can tap the image icon, and select an existing image from your gallery. Then, choose the image section that contains the information you need.
Step 3 Choose a language
Select the language of the text you want to extract. If it’s not English or German, add it to the language list first.
Step 4 Edit the output
Tap Start Text recognition to process the image. After a few minutes, Text Fairy will display the plain text for you to edit. When the application displays That Went Well, you can select Share, Copy, or Save as PDF, to modify the output.
How to Use
Using Text Fairy is fairly simple. All you need to do is take snaps of the printed documents from the app itself, as this app has the feature of scanning text from images on the device and it can even scan text from the photos that are taken by the camera earlier or at that moment.
Next, you would find the app start recognizing text just within a few seconds. Once done you can now use the text in several ways either by copying it to the clipboard or by directly exporting it into a PDF file. And now all that becomes text-searchable.
To make it easy for yourself you can try these steps consecutively to get the best results:
1. Open the Text Fairy App in your device.
2. If you have to take a snap that isn't already there on your device, then press the camera button.
3. Once the camera is ready, frame the document on the screen to take a snap.
4. After getting more or less the correct angle, tap the screen and take the snap.
5. The image will now appear on the screen, if you find it clear and fine, click on the check button.
6. Now frame the text in the best possible position with the correct viewpoint.
7. Now click on the right-pointing arrow.
8. Here you have to select the number of columns containing the original text.
9. Choose the language of the document.
10. Now tap on the Start button.
11. The OCR will take a few minutes to finish its , once ready, you are free to use the text in whichever way you want it.
Supported Languages
The app supports two languages by default English and German. For other languages, you need to tap the menu placed on the upper left corner and tap Add Language. A list of languages will appear, tap the download button of the language or languages that you want to add. There are more than fifty options and they are going on adding more.
