Tips & Tricks For Beginners 

Focus On Two Or Three Traits

It’s more viable to focus your lineup around two traits rather than to spread them out (with one or two exceptions to this rule). Traits give your team powerful bonuses when you field a certain number of Champions within a given Class or Origin. Rather than getting as many Traits as you can, try stacking two traits to the highest level that you can.

Fielding Champions from the same Class or Origin will empower those units with scaling benefits. For example, having 2 Champions from a given Class can add +20% Max Health, but having 8 Champions with that Class adds +110% Max Health. Traits often scale profitably as they power up — they often have exponential gains as you increase their numbers.

Bank Your Gold, Then Spend It

Save your gold for the right moments, don't always spend it right away. Gold is one of your most important resources in TFT, as it can increase your team size and improve your Champions. The best practice here is to spend your gold in large bunches, not spread out a little bit each round.

If you spend all of your gold each round, you won’t earn any bonus income (granted by having gold banked up at the end of a combat round). Save your gold when you can, then dump it all, Buying XP or Rerolling your shop.

Plan Your XP And Rerolls Strategically

Buying XP with gold can contribute to a larger army with higher Tier Champions. However, you could also choose to use your gold Rerolling your shop to get more 3-star Champions. This choice should be based on your team composition.

If your team needs lower Tier champions, spend more gold on Rerolls early. As your Tacticain levels up, these lower-tier Champions won’t be as readily available. Either spend your gold Rerolling for low-tier Champions or Buy XP and get a larger squad with high-tier Champions (but fewer 3-star Champions).
